Yes! Send me your email address. Although I have permission from the publishers to print these articles, findagrave has been rendering them unreadable. I am so happy to find family to send it to! OH! I just found your email address.... article coming momentarily....

RE: Clemow memorials
Hi!
First of all---thanks so very much! My Find A Grave # is 48510600. This really means so much to me and I thank you---not only for doing this for me but (as I said yesterday) for taking the time to create these memorials in the first place!

Thanks so much!
Scott

Clemow memorials
Hi!
I just have a very quick question about the 5 memorials you manage/created for the Clemow's buried in the Cedar Crest Cemetery (Trucksville, PA). I'm not sure if you are related to them or not---but if not (and you wouldn't mind too much) would it be possible to transfer the management of those memorials to me? I ask because the memorials are for my Grandfather, my Great Grandfather/Grandmother and 2 of my Great Uncles.
I hate to ask and definitely hope it's not rude!
In any case, whether you transfer the management of the memorials to me or not I just wanted to thank you (so very much) for taking the time to honor and create the memorials for my family.

Thanks so much for your time!

You are very welcome. I know how much I appreciated finding so many of my relatives this way when I started my geneaology search. If I can be of further held let me know, I live in the W-B area.

I searched her on Ancestry. Her parents are Franz and Adolphina in the 1900 census.

Joanne,

Maybe something changes when the photos are transferred through the find a grave site. I'll send them to you via your e-mail.

George & Ida Vonderlinden
Joanne,
The niche for George & Ida is located in level nine which is about nine feet up. Without something to stand upon, the photos are the best I could get. If you would like a better photo, I could go back w/a step ladder and retake. Let me know.

RE: Mathers
Thank you for the addition. It's just that I see SO much of these kind of ommissions of late, that I finally had to ask. I am so glad you did NOT take offense! Paulette

I do not understand why so many grave managers no longer put in birth/death info when provided. Please advise. Paulette

Joanne -
Your memorial 16875016 and Sharon's memorial
7962692 seem to be the same person. I will leave this same message for Sharon. Your memorial seems to have a bit more information than Sharon's.

RE: 61093671 and 52480238
sorry, must have hit it twice, but what I said was that I'd rather have concrete evidence then that of census. The enumerator was only as good as what information was provided, and many times a persons accent allowed the enumerator to only list what they thought they heard as a spelling, not necessarily by birth record or documents. Therefore, I'd feel more comfortable relying on the stone as concrete. I'm sure the family person responsible for burying their loved one knew the spelling of the name. Especially since it is on both the husband and wife's stone as same.
thanks
Scott

RE: 61093671 and 52480238
well the problem with census enumerations is that it is only as good as those who wrote it. Many times a persons accent prompted the enumerator to mis-spell a name, and spelling as it sounded to him/her.

I would feel better sticking with the stone as its true spelling. I would assume the family person charged with the first burial there would have known how to spell their own name.

thanks
Scott

the stones show Schwarz, if I change it I will get correction messages as in past to change according to stone, are you positive of that spelling and have any back up to it, as I could list the correction with the back up note on the bio. Or, if you want them transferred, since they are directly related, you can deal with the spelling issue if it comes up lol :-)

Hi Joanne,

The cemetery is long not taken care of, and the stone is probably as good as it will get. The cemetery is no longer open, locked to the public so I cannot get in there any longer to dust or clean it better for a new picture. sorry

RE: St. John's Norway Cemetery
Hi, Joanne...didn't forget! I was in Toronto about 3 weeks ago and went to see if I could find the grave. I spent a couple of hours wandering the section rows but to no avail. The office was closed by the time I left which meant I couldn't get more help that day.

The list of names I was given (it's of the specific row within the section) was headed "flat stones." I would say half of the row was flat stones and probably 75% are buried under the grass.I'll have to call them when I get back to Toronto & ask if they can mark/uncover the stone. My family grave was located near where the grounds workers keep tools etc. One of them was there & saw me wandering. He took me right to the flat marker & uncovered it for me. All this to say, they should be able to uncover it for me.

It will probably towards the end of May before I get back there.

Jean
