Elizabeth Howbert Zerkle
I would check both birth and death date for this stone. The age at death is 74 years 12 days. I see two errors. On date of death the U. S. Federal Mortality Census of 1850-1885 has death of Elizabeth Zerkle listed as happening in March 1870, in Shenandoah, Virginia. On date of birth, Davidsburg Baptism Records 1785 - 1845, a booklet published by Shenandoah History Society on page 33 has a listing for George Zerkel [son of John] and wife Elisabeth for child Jacob. Below this line is listed Elisabeth Zerkel was born 28 February 1796, Baptized 23 February 1817. I believe the 28 should be 23, which would place the date of birth as 23 February 1796 plus death of 74 years 12 days at date of death being 5 March 1870. This is the calculation.

RE: Rea Family Photo
It was passed down to me by either:

Izora Bolen Craft or Edna Robb, daughter of Dora Rea Robb.

Both of them gave me boxes of family stuff before they died.

Disclaimer: Christine Rea, who posted Joseph Rea as a son relationship with a supposed prior husband for Mary Reams of Luther Rea, is double checking to be sure she is correct.

Hi Christine. I have this posted for Mary Reams. I was just wondering if you have any further information about this. Thank you.

Hello, I was wondering if you could link George to his father, who you have also kindly created a memorial for? There are two memorials for Johan Philip: 85154690 and 30075561. George is my 6th GGpa and Philip is my 7th :) I have a photo of George's daughter Elizabeth (my 6th GGma)

Re: James Haines
Hi Christine,

I saw your request for a photo of James Haines headstone but when I looked at the list of the people interred at the East York Cemetery I did not see him listed. ( The website I looked at was

http://union.ohiogenealogy.info/cem/yoea.html )

Please let me know if you got your information from another source and these records should be updated or if there is any possibility that James Haines could be buried at another cemetery.

Thanks,

Jeanette

Hi there.
No, we took the grandkids down there for a history lesson. Grandma was a history teacher and from WVa. So, while walking around I took photos of all WVa, Tenn, and CT vets I saw. Have no connection to any of them. I looked them up on Ancestry.com and added as much as I could.
If he is family or friend, I will gladly transfer him over to you.
Happy Researching, Bud

Phillip
Elizabeth Ann Forrestal Reilly
According to Wisconsin Births and Christenings, 1826-1926, Elizabeth was born in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
--------------------------

She was born in New York, New York as was her older sister, Mary Ann. Every census shows that. Her older brother and sister were born in Ireland. The rest born in Milwaukee.

Elizabeth is my 2nd great grand aunt.

Phillip

There is another document Wisconsin Births to 1907 that shows all the children listed in sequence, like there were listed at the same time.

Hi there, I fulfilled your request for Catherine Spurgeon in the Antigo Cemetery. Next to Catherine, there was a Jerry Spurgeon, no date on the stone. It's a Wis. Infantry stone and looks very old. I'm assuming Jerry=Jeremiah that you also requested, but I wanted to check with you to see if it's correct before I upload that photo. Let me know.

Clarissa Bolen Furrow

Christine,

Your Clarissa Bolen Furrow was the spouse of John W. Furrow and they are both buried at Maple Grove Cemetery. Thank you for changing her burial location to Maple Grove which is correct for her.

From my source:

"It appears that Clarissa Bolen Furrow WAS the spouse of John W. Furrow.

So, the burial location would be:

Square 32, Lot 3, Grave 3: "Mrs John. Furrow" = Clarissa Bolen Furrow (per death certificate annotation)
Square 32, Lot 3, Grave 4: John W. Furrow.

John W. Furrow
26 Jul 1836 - January 7, 1912"

Butcher Cemetery

Do, please not make a new cemetery listing for "North Lewisburg" as a cemetery as that name does not actually exist. Butcher Cemetery has had several names over the years. Actually, it was once run by the Walnut Grove Cemetery Association, about 100 years ago, and those members are now all gone, but the name Walnut Grove, also became associated with Butcher. It is the village's oldest public cemetery within its actual border. Somehow after the DAR ladies did a stone reading, it got the name Butcher-Garwood and that is not correct. Dr. J. M. Butcher deeded the land for Butcher Cemetery so that name is what is most popularly used for it.

Maple Grove is just right outside of the city limit sign. There are already Furrow burials at Maple Grove. I would suggest adding your Furrow burial with those at Maple Grove Cemetery in North Lewisburg,

59000 Gilbert Rd
North Lewisburg
Champaign County
Ohio USA
Postal Code: 43060

When I type in the North Lewisburg Cemetery in Find A Grave, the Butcher Cemetery has 2 different names attached to it. One of those names is the North Lewsiburg Cemetery. I did delete her from Butcher and then when I went to add her to N. Lewsiburg it took me right back to Butcher. So on the photo request I said she was buried at N. Lewisburg. You have been there. What is your suggestion. Should I make a new cemetery listing for North Lewisburg? Are the cemeteries all at the same location?

Clarrisa Bolen Furrow
Hi Christine,

I just checked and the listing for Clarrisa Bolen Furrow is still at the the Butcher Cemetery with today's date for the change.

Do you perhaps have the obituary for her? I have also seen her death certificate on-line on the familysearch pilot site. There is No. "B" - it is No. Lewisburg. I am having someone check into the Maple Grove Records that has knowledge of that cemetery since there are already other Furrow folks buried at Maple Grove in North Lewisburg. Are you related to Clarrisa Furrow? I have been to the Butcher Cemetery several times and can tell you that I have never seen a stone for anyone with the surname of Furrow.

Clarissa Bolen Furrow - FAG # 49850162
Hi Christine,

You have posted Clarissa Bolen Furrow - Find A Grave # 49850162 as a burial at the Butcher Cemetery in North Lewisburg. Do you have any documentation to prove that she is actually buried there? I ask because I have done extensive research at the Butcher Cemetery and burials ended much earlier than that at Butcher. No stone reading to date has any Furrow burials there.

However, nearby Maple Grove Cemetery does have on "Find A Grave" Furrow burials.

Please check to see via an obituary or funeral home record Clarissa's burial. I know it can be confusing since Butcher has been known by other names, but a 1924 burial is quite late of a burial for this inactive burying ground. Thank you.

Ellen Van Horn
Posted the pictures for Ellen. Headstone states she was the daughter of E and E Van Horn. Died I think about 9/22/1872. 18 years, 10 days. Didn't read your note until after I came home. There are other Van Horns there, including her parents. I can return and get more pics and info if you would like.
