RE: Bryan Faver
the photo that I took of Bryan Faver's headstone was back in June 2011. If you are saying that the current headstone has the wrong date, it must have been changed by the Veterans Administration sometime since 06/2011. You should contact the VA about this to see what can be done to correct this. Sorry that I do not have any other information for you.

Hi Dorothea,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. You mentioned John Bowers/Bauer buried at Locust Cemetery, he was 83 years old which would make him born 1864. But his headstone is military from Civil War, which is right but age is wrong, I have his death Oct. 27 1917. The military had his last name as Bowers but it is Bauer. It looks like he was issued a stone in 1934. Thanks so much for checking for me. The book Last Call does that just have his name going into the Civil War in Evansville?
My Bauer and Asmann family are from Evansville and John's brother Jacob "Jake Bauer which is my GGGGrandfather was in the Military Band Warren's Crescent City Band. He was President in the last 1880-1890's.
Thanks so much,

RE: Joseph Turner
Thank you so much for replying. God bless you for being inspired to work on the older section of the cemetery. From my own experiences your help & others, have helped us find long forgotten family members. In some cases I've been able to put together a short history on some individuals within our line. Thank you again for your help. Have a safe & enjoyable day. Take care & God bless.

RE: Joseph Turner
Since there is no marker, having it's location would complete his burial record. Do you know the Section #, Row #, Lot #, Grave #, or Space #?
Thank you very much for your assistance. Your help is most appreciated by our family. Have a safe & enjoyable week. Take care & God bless.

Catherine Bourie
She is listed in Locust Hill Cemetery on Find A Grave: Memorial 104731597

I can't place her in the Bourie Family of Indiana and was hopeing the marker might give a clue as to her parents, age etc.

WWI Photos
Sure, you're welcome to use any of them.

I've scanned in the biographies with photos and placed them online here:

The photos and biographies came from the book
Sons of Men: Evansville's War Record,
Compiled by Heiman Blatt,
Published by Abe P. Madison, 1920

I can't remember if I finished my project to have them all on find a grave with tombstone photos. Most of them are on find a grave.

RE: Norbert Happe
You have permission to use the photos. My cousin and I do together. She is actually the one who found the photo of him & his wife & the newspaper clipping. I found the page in the Soldiers of the Great War. I also have a copy of his Draft Registration Card. If you want it I could email it to you if you give me your email address. As for using our names, I'd really rather not.

Fred Reutter

I don't have his obit, just what looks like a 3x5 card from the Browning data base. I would love to see it if you are able send it.
Neither my sister nor my cousins were familiar with Grandpa serving in WWI.
Since becoming involved with genealogy, my biggest regret is not talking (and listening) to the old folks when I was young. I have so many questions now and none are around to ask.

Fred Reutter
Both were Fred William Reutter. I checked to see if I could find WWI military records. Nothing! I am more inclined to think my grandpa did not serve as he was already married. He and Grandma Hulda had my Dad (1917) when he registered for the Draft. Cousin Fred didn't marry Rosetta until 1919.
Cousin Fred died in KY on May 3, 1963 and Grandpa in Evansville on Aug 15, 1974. I sure would welcome whatever you have because I have both families in Family Tree Maker.
