RE: Mary Dora Bowles
That's interesting. A found an article in the 1926 Danville Bee where a Mary Bowles, wife of John R. Bowles was injured when she was burning a trash pile and a cartridge ignited and passed through her arm.

Did you by chance also find Herbert Bowles? He died sometime between 1928 and 1960.

I see what you mean. I think the obituary has it a little off. I'm correcting it.

Thank you for the pictures. I'll take a look about the name again, but I'm pretty sure that's what the obituary said. Not that obituaries can't be wrong.

RE: Sarah Reynolds
Thank you for your response. Since you write that H.C. and Sarah are in the same plot, this confirms that H.C. is her husband Hugh Carr Reynolds as he is known to the family (in the family trees). If you have seen the name Henry, perhaps in Confederate army records, then it is probably a nickname for him. He is seen with Sarah and a few children in the 1880 census for Pittsylvania and then with more in 1900 in Danville and in 1910. She is seen as a widow under the name Katherine Reynolds in the 1920 census with her daughter Catherine (Reynolds) Harris in Danville Ward 2.

Memorial # 92700442
Hi Ed,

Could you please add a maiden name for Fannie R Parkinson to the memorial? It is Rickmond, with a "k." If you need proof of this just let me know. This is my husband's great great aunt.

Thanks, Leslie

RE: Lois Ann Waddington
Her mother's name came from her death certificate. She was buried with her father's parents, Gilbert and Merle (Whitesell) Waddington.
Lois' father Gilbert Jr. was buried with his wife Bette Earle. I have not been able to locate a birth certificate for Lois, so I can't verify her mother's name. Thank you for your help, for now we'll just be satisfied linking Lois to her father.
