Mary Morgan Stevens
Hi, Merry.

I was just wondering how you are related to Mary Morgan Stevens, 18791600? Her daughter, Eloise Annella Stevens, married my great great uncle, Howard Russell Scofield, so I linked Eloise to her parents.

Howard's sister, Annie May Scofield, married Granger Cyril Fancher, and they were my great grandparents, who you recently transferred to me. :)

Thanks,
Kami

RE: Granger Fancher
Thank you so much, Merry, for the transfer of my great grandparents, great uncles, and great aunt. I really appreciate it!

Yeah, I realized as soon as I hit send that I had neglected to include my member number... I'm so sorry about that! (And I'm sorry about the duplicate messages to correct that, as well.) Thanks for being so patient and understanding with me. :)

My mother has a copy of The Fancher Family by William Hoyt Fancher, and I actually just ordered my own copy as well, though I haven't received it yet. If you have any insight beyond that resource, I'd love to hear it. To be such a (relatively) rare name, I'm pleased so much info is available on the family, thanks to the dedicated work of genealogists before.

It's so nice to make a connection with a cousin! Thanks again! :)

James and Stephen Rusco
I have linked James to his son as requested. I have not linked the wife. You have Stephen's mother linked as his wife. Note the 30 year difference in age. I have his wife as Anna Hoyt Raymond the daughter of Jesse Hoyt and Mary Hoyt Raymond. I have Anna born 31 dec 1794 and died 28 apr 1889. I am not saying I'm the correct one but would like you to check what you have?

Hello Merry,

I haven't got any further info about this Gray family, but I'll be happy to look for you. Do you know if Adaline Gray married or where she may have lived?

Thank you,

Steve

Yes, Trumbell. And I seemed to have been rushing this afternoon, that is before I needed 5 stiches in my thumb! that is. She is listed as Aunt-in-law living at Charles E age 52 and Olive O age 50 Johnson's. She is also listed as Widowed. ?. There is a daughter Mary Jane Johnson age 12.

Charles is an Electrician at the GE Powerhouse.

RE: Olive Knapp Rusco
Hello Merry,

She must have had sweetness around her, and that is a good thing.

I have just researched a bit further as I did not have a Censu record for the years 1850 and 1860. Did not find one again, immediattely. further lookiing and I was succesful. For Cyrus F and Olive Knapp Ruscoe the 1850 Census name is Ruser, and the 1860 census is Rucco. in 1850 Olive age 17, married adm Cyrus and her had Charles H, age 1 Yr. And, they wre living in the house of Willaim Knapp and neighbor to Nirum Knapp.

M Vanila, as per her memorial, was, I believe record show continuity, Margery Vanila Knapp.
1860 Margery Rucco
1970 Margery Ruscoe
1880 Vanila Ruscoe
1900 _Looking
1910 Margarie V Rusco
1920 _Looking
1915 Vaninda Rusco
1930 _Looking
1940 M Vinila Rusco
1941 M Vanila Ruscoe

I would be interested in what your search reveals.

I believe again, I have duplicated Margery in the bio.

RE: Olive Knapp Rusco
Well,
Thanks for the update. I see there is atleast one child's memorial that needs to be linked up to Olvie's. Time short for me at this moment.

The name vanila checks out as follows

Vanila Baby Name. Origin and Meaning of Vanila
The Name Vanila is a girl's name.
The name Vanila or slight variations of Vanila are seen in the origins Latin, English

Meanings and Origins of the Name Vanila.

Latin,English Meanings of Vanila (Female)- Sweetly scented, The vanilla bean plant.

Vanila has the following similar or variant Names: Vanila Vanilah Vanillah Vanyla Vanylah Vanylla Vanyllah Vanilla

On closer review, I need to see, based on continuity, "M Vanila" and "Margery Rusco" maight be the same. I am seeng a convergence on the birth year with the now 1940 census.

Also, Alfred Knapp lists only Olive's marriage, no children at time of publishing. I need to find a census for Olive the year of either 1850 or 1860.

Re: Roswell B Janes in Morgan-Davis Cemetery
Hi Merry -
I am descended from the Morgans - specifically both of the Zalmons.
First, thank you for the pictures you took of the headstones in the Morgan-Davis cemetery. I was looking over the listing of interments at the cemetery and thought I would bring this fact to light: On the 1860 United States Federal Census a R"oswell B Janes" is entered. His home in 1860 was in Trumbull. His age was 34, which should make his birth year about 1826. He stated that he had been born in New York. I am hoping that this individual and the man buried in the cemetery are one and the same.

Dear Merry,

I have made the changes. Would you like me to transfer management to you? My husband and I have been trying to put all the graves into Find a Grave at High Ridge. I could give you management of John. I am descended from the Birdsalls and Joneses from Pound Ridge.

Wilton Library
Merry, I hope you don't mind my asking. CT is much too far for me to travel to, so I don't have the ability to visit repositories there. Does Wilton Library offer research services? I can't find much on their site, yet you have named several resources. TIA!

Merry, thanks for all the helpful information on the Morgan-Rockwell family! Yes, it helps a lot. Oh how said--I guess the stones aren't legible any longer? I still have a puzzle with different dates of death, but things are becoming a lot clearer with your help :)
