Debe Dockins
Photo of Matilda Stanley
Hi Laura, just wanted to let you know that the Woodland Cemetery site used to have a photo that they cited as Matilda Stanley, but it's not. It's actually a photo of Monique Monet, a belly dancer who was born in Southern California and is still very much alive. I noticed the descrepancy when I was doing some research and found it odd that the photo was claimed to be from around 1860 or so. Not possible. Anyway, I contacted the cemetery and the photo has been removed.

Laura; I noticed you added a memorial at Fair Cemetery (86763375) ON 3/14/2012. I am removing memorial 17488348 placed their on 1/15/2007. John and Gladys were neighbors of my sister-in law on Linden Road, lakeville, Indiana for many years. I would have gladly transferred the origianl memorial. Jim

RE: Lee Melton

There was a great deal of sunlight glare reflecting off the marker when I took the photo. I took several shots of it, thinking I cd get a good a picture, but I didn't. When I noticed someone else had already posted a photo and that it was much better, I deleted mine.

Thank you.

Arthur Lee Melton

There was a mix-up and someone added a second photo of Arthur's marker. That person's photo is of a higher quality, so I'm removing mine.

I didn't ask you to remove it I just said that it was a duplicate. The original was added the day the death happened.

I have the Plattsburg Cemetery book from the Wash Co. Historical Society. It indicates that Ida Smith is buried there, born 1900, died 1924. Her father was Arthur Melton, her mother was Mattie Armstrong. She was married to Wm Simon Smith 19 Feb 1919. Wm S is also there, as is his mother Eliza. If you send me your email address I'll send you a copy of the page. It has several Smiths and their info. My email is
I live in Greenfield In, and the cemetery is about 100 mile south of here. I do visit some as my grandparents are buried there. Chuck McCleery

RE: Chester Miller
I believe you are right. When I did a people search on Chester, I came up with Chester Sylvester Miller in Pryor with Betty Ellen listed as his wife. I will transfer him as well.

RE: Chester Miller
I do not know that information. I tried to look up his obit online and what I found is a death notice. He died in Pryor, OK and was a greenhouse owner. The lot has space for 8 with 3 burials... William, Ruby, and Chester.

re: Eliza Kemp
Hi Laura, I think that you may have sent me an e mail on May 17. I just saw it in the draft section of my computer, but couldn't open it up. I don't know why it went in there. Anyway, if you did reply to me, can I ask you to send it again? Thank you. I was wondering about Eliza's death notice. Did you find it in the Dayton Paper and if so if you wouldn't mind telling me how to access the archives. I'd like to look for other stuff there, if that's where you got it. Thanks ...Rhonda Nelson Mills

RE: Look in your email
Hi Laura, Wow that was quick. Thank you so much. Eliza Mary Loehr Kemp was my gg grandmother. She was married to Peter Kemp, son of John Kemp and Elizabeth Zeller Kemp. I hope to find out Eliza's parents names. Eliza was the mother to my great grandfather, Newton M. Kemp. I do have an old picture of Newton and his wife Ella's grave with my grandmother in front if it and I think I was there as a child, but I would love a recent photo of it. Also if you see the very nearby grave of their son Warren Kemp (he died very young. I believe his stone is in front of his parents' gravestone.) I would love a photo of that. I have joined and I've done a lot of research and it would be nice to add photos to it. I do have a photo of Eliza when she was young with her husband and two children. I should put her picture on the Findagrave site. She died of Breast Cancer. I do have recent photos of Eliza and Peter's grave thanks to another wonderful lady that I met thru

Where did you find this obit. notice? Was it at the records center in Dayton? I hope to go there one day. Eliza did have 7 children. If you ever come upon any other info. I'd love to hear of it.

Thank you so much again for all your help. Today after your help and Linda Wiley's ( the other Findagrave volunteer)help, I decided to sign up to be a volunteer photographer.

I'd love to hear about your family's Cdn. connection. My email is Also I really like your family photo.! What a great idea! Thanks again, Laura. Looking forward to hearing from you......Rhonda Nelson Mills

re: Eliza Loehr Kemp
Hello Laura, Thank you so much for contacting me. That is so kind of you and I would be so thrilled to see a copy of my great great grandmother's obituary! I live in Toronto, Ontario. All my family on my Mom's side is American and lived there for hundreds of years in some cases. My grandparents were both from Dayton, Ohio. When I was growing up, we went to Ohio alot. It's funny, I am a second generation Canadian on both sides, but I've always identifed more with the U.S. and now that I'm doing my family genealogy, I understand more why I feel this way. I just wish I was living down in Dayton so I could more easily do it and also have access to the record center, the cemetaries and historical societies. I do hope some time in the future to get down there again!

Thank you again. I truly appreciate it!
