|Jason Crawford||Capt John L. Crawford|
My name is Jason Crawford. John L. Crawford was my GGG Grandfather. Do you any pictures of him......it would be so awesome if you did! After he was killed in the war his widow, Frances M. Stephens, moved from Lake City, Fl....to Coolidge, GA (so I was told) and bought a farm that Elbert Green Crawford grew up on. GG Grandfather Green Crawford is buried in a small cemetery not far from my house here in Coolidge.
P.S. any pictures at all of my ancestors would be much appreciated.

|Jan Donaghey Bond||Brooks family|
I am researching the Clonts line (my mother's maiden name) and see that William Brooks mother is Catherine Matilda Clonts. I have extensive files on Ancestry.com and ran into some problems. On Ancestry he is listed as William Wesley "John" Brooks with the same birth/date/place information married to Mahala Rooks and Cynthia Elvira Allen -
Her Find-a-Grave record:
Cynthia Elvira Allen Brooks
Birth: Jul. 2, 1851
Death: Nov. 24, 1920
Alcimus Harris Allen (1824 - 1868)
Jane Moore McCain Allen (1826 - 1894)
John Wesley Brooks (1841 - 1911)
Can you shed any light on this. Lot's an Ancestry records have both spouses listed but that doesn't seem correct. Hope you help.

|Tanny Handley||John L Crawford|
John Crawford enlisted 11/1861 into Company A Florida 1st Calvary Battalion. 7/1862 he mustered out and transferred to Company E 9th Florida Infantry. You are right. His body has never been located. I called the Battle Field Memorial and they had no record. Bodies were moved. They also explained that sometimes when they camped out on people's property, if the family liked them, they might bury them in their family plot. I have copies of Frances' widows pension application. Their is a letter from one of the soldiers that saw him get killed and they refer to him as Dr John L Crawford. It was explained to me that sometimes a medic might take over for a fallen doctor and they would call him doctor because that was his position and not because he had training.

She was married to my maternal grandfather, and the only maternal grandmother I knew. She told me her first husband was shot, and I always wondered about that. She made THE BEST pound cake and lemon mousse I ever have or ever will taste. Can you send me anything you have on her and her first husband, please? Thank you so much - firstname.lastname@example.org and/or email@example.com

According to information I found in a published book about cemeteries in Spartanburg, these two graves were moved to their current location at the College in 1920. They had been near the Tabernacle Methodist Church in the southern part of Spartanburg County.
I thought you might like to add that note to these two memorials.

Hello Kathy, you have linked your William Hopper as son to Jasper Hopper Find A Grave Memorial# 16228279 but this link is incorrect. Jasper's son William was born in NC and died in Indiana. I have submitted a request to remove the parent links on your William, but there has been no response. Please contact me at your earliest convenience so that we might correct these links. Thanks very much!

Hello Kathy, I am hoping to get info on your source for the link on the memorial sites Find A Grave Memorial# 58648307 Charles Hopper 1738 - 1820 and Find A Grave Memorial# 62386525 Lydia Ann Hopper Wofford 1768 - 1862. I have Leona Hopper Newbill's book published 1966 and am tracking the direct line for Jasper Hopper 1772 - 1872. The Hoppers provides info that Charles children were Jasper, William, Charles (1777), Zachariah, Elizabeth, Thomas and John. Any info you are willing to share would be very appreciated.

WOW... I am almost at a loss for words... almost! I can not tell you how incredibly happy I am to have stumbled across my ggg-Grandfathers memorial and found you!
I'm not sure how to get all of this out without rambling! I'll try to keep it short...
For over a decade, I keep running into a brick wall for searching for any information on John Monroe Crawford. It has been years since I've come back around attempting to get more info. All I knew was that he was buried in Thomas GA. So one thing has lead to another tonight (John and Frances Crawford)and I have landed on your contributor page!
I'm not sure what to do first or even what questions to ask!! Since it's almost 3 am, I'll stop and just ask that you reach out to me as soon as you get some spare time. I would absolutely LOVE to discuss the Crawford family in more depth!

I've come across another Find A Grave Memorial# 7159677 for Lewis Holden that includes a headstone indicating his DOB as 23 May 1841 and DOD as 19 Jul 1861. It appears this is possibly the same Lewis Ozias Holden as on your Find A Grave Memorial# 60367920? Both indicate the parents as Ozias and Mary Polly. Can you clarify for me?
Thanks so much,
