Hallo! I am looking for some information about my distant relatives. Do you know late Sophie Postula or her sibilings (family name - Gawel)? I think she was my grandfather's cousine. Me and my family are living in southern Poland. Greetings

You're very welcome and glad to be of help. I'm not related- just wanted to create memorials in a cemetery that is very large but hardly had any memorials created which I feel is a disservice to those searching for their loved ones.

The DRGS spent over 10 years transcribing the cemetery records for Holy Cross which is now closed. I purchased the whole set of books from DRGS, but they told me that if I used their books to find locations, they wanted credit noted on Find a Grave. So, my good intentions have created a problem. I'll pretend your memorial already had a location and fulfill her request.

You created the memorial for Wawrzyniec Grzywacz.
Regina Markowicz made the request. I found the grave and took photo. Did you have burial location when you created memorial? If so, then disregard my message and I will fulfill her request.

I would gladly accept the transfer of these memorials if you don't mind. Thank you for posting them. I hope to get pictures of their headstones within the next few weeks.

For the dates you have listed on Rose Darga's memorial page, and the info you just posted about their possible wedding dates, something is wrong. You have posted that Rose was born in 1902, but you just said that they were married in 1915. That could not be because she would have been only 13 years old. My grandfather's sister was born Rose Badowski on 13 July 1902, and married Frank Darga on 16 June 1925. Rose passed away on 23 April 1977 and Frank passed away on 8 April 1973. They are buried next to each other at Mt Olivet in section R. I looked up the Rose Strzelecki you mention and she was born in August 1896. You can look up this information to verify it on either FamilySearch.org or on the Mt Elliott Cemetery Association website.

I believe these are my relatives. Rose would have been my grandfather's sister. I would accept the transfer as I hope to be adding more to that family soon. If you want some verification before transferring the information, I can provide it to you. Thank you in advance.

I was wondering where you got the information regarding both a Frank Darga and a Rose Darga. I have a great aunt and uncle with those names buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery. I was wondering if the ones you have listed might be my great aunt and uncle. Any information you can give me would be appreciated. You can write me back here or at my email listed on my page. Thank you.

Thanks for giving me the info. I added it to his memorial. I noticed that you have also taken pictures of Sacred heart of Saint Mary cemetery in Detroit. My great great grandparents August and Anna Wobrock are there, but I wasn't very familiar with this cemetery, I had requested a photo of their gravestone, but I don't have very much info. on them including their birth and death dates. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

|Matthew||Rose Darga in Mt Olivet Cemetery|
You have submitted information for a Rose Darga buried in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The dates you have match my great aunt, but you have her maiden name wrong. Her maiden name was Badowski. The dates, born in 1902 and died in 1977 are correct. Just wanted to let you know so it can be corrected.

Thank you so much. Frances' death is a very sad story. I really appreciate you transferring her to me. I talk to her son, Sonny, about once a month. He now lives in North Fort Myers, Fl and is in his 80's. He was the first born grandchild to my grandparents. I find it very interesting that you are also related to the Grzywacz's and I find very little when researching my grandmother. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org if you find you ever want to share any info...Best regards, Władziu

You added a photo to memorial 27680667. Can you add it to his wife's memorial too? They are listed on the same marker. Thanks

I had to ask the office for the exact location of the graves--it's really cold and windy today and I didn't want to search the entire section. Anyway, that's where I found out they had been moved.

I've added the photos of the graves. A couple of things you may find interesting--someone is taking care of the graves, there were so many flowers there this summer that I couldn't get a photo; now the flowers have been cleaned up and there are Christmas decorations. Also they were not originally buried at Clinton Grove, but were moved there from Forest Lawn in Detroit in 2000. They are in Section C, Lot 106.

It's 3 miles from my house. How about if I go and see if I can find them and, if the plants around the stones are gone, take a photo(s).

yes, I've been trying to get a lot of the 'inactive' members memorials updated. It's very frustrating! Thank you

|Ryan Eberhart, MSocS||More Magee Family Members|
I don't know if you saw them a couple of weeks ago, but I found some more Magee family members in Section C. If you go in and make the right going back to the older sections they are straight back almost to the far end near the road.
Thought you'd like to know.
Also, Wayne Historical Museum is open on Friday and Saturday from 1-4 both days.

Yes, I did find some Magees in Glenwood. I don't remember seeing any in Old Wayne, but there could be. Have you tried the Department of Public Works for the City of Wayne, they take care of both cemeteries and have some records. I am currently working on a project for my Masters to map Glenwood Cemetery. I am also going to be creating a website for the cemetery. I would like to do a layout similar to this website, not trying to take anything away from FindAGrave.com, I just want to do something that would benefit not only this website but the City of Wayne also. I say that it would benefit the City of Wayne because they have been wanting to do this for a while, their records are somewhat inadequate, lots of missing information, and the cemetery is still in use. They would be able to go in and update any new burials as well as find or replace grave markers as needed.
Good luck on your search. Might I also suggest stopping in at the museums for both Wayne and Westland, they would have an abundance of information on both cemeteries.
Email me if you need any help at email@example.com
