Rufus/Cynthia Brown
Hello,

I am also a direct-line descendent of Rufus and Cynthia Brown (through their son Tolbert). I noticed the two memorial situation and I contacted the previous memorial manager about corrections. I offered to do the corrections myself if she would prefer. She graciously transferred them to me and the corrections have been made. If we could now clear up the two memorial situation with the deletion of your two duplicates (Rufus-69173854...Cynthia-69173885) and the attaching Andrew and Tolbert to the 2007 memorials. Thank you for all the work you have done on our family tree and find-a-grave.

Sincerely,
Kate

PS. In your family, do they spell Cynthia's middle name Catheryn or Catherine? Aunt Opal claimed the later and I am curious to see what your family says.

David Barton
When I first started researching the Barton Ancestry, David Barton was listed as Capt David Barton and referenced by many of the Barton Family as 'Capt'. Although it appears that he was a Pvt in War of 1812, he has often been referenced as 'Capt' David Barton. I believe that this was due to his leadership role in the settlement of the community and the prominent role that the Bartons played in Rydal, Pine Log, and the Adairsville area. I don't believe that we put 'Pvt' as the prefix for all the Pvts who have military service, and that many community leaders, such as mayors and police chiefs, etc. often ended up with nicknames (Capt, Sgt, Mayor, etc). I am interested in finding any story of how he came to be recognized as Capt David Barton. Regardless, I am proposing the removal of 'Pvt' as a prefix due to it does not appropriately recognize his leadership or elder position as a pioneer of the area. Thank you, Phyllis Cox #47511106

John A. Bull
There is a newer stone for John A Bull in the Bellview Cemetery, Roger Mills County, OK. Would you like both of the photos on your memorial page or would you like the newer one only? I could email the old one to you for your records, if you would want that.
Blessings, Judy

Natalie Heflin
Martha Alvira Moore
Hi Carol! My name is Natalie Heflin. I am Martha Moore Graves great great granddaughter. She was married to Robert Graves. Their daughter Annie married Charlie Hardy and had a daughter named Gracie. Gracie married Robert Allison and had a daughter named Sybil. Sybil is my mother's mother and she is still living. If you are on Ancestry.com, let me know and I will invite you to my tree. I have tracked parts of the Moore family back to the 1200's if you'd like the info. I'm always looking for new genealogy connections and family connections as well. Hope to hear from you soon.

Carol:

I was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas the other day. I did several Tribble and related stones.

I don't if any would be in your family, but I wanted you to know there are some new photos from the cemetery.

I found a Township map that was done after her parents passed. Mattie had inhereted land and I didn't know if you would be interested in that. I am still looking for a picture of Mattie and if you would know who to contact to get a copy of it.
Thank you, Robin Hoschouer Zeller

I extracted all of the Sturdivant burial data directly from microfilm into the computer without creating a paper copy. The obituary citation was noted to assist other researchers. I have a colleague at the Sturdivant Cemetery Association, who is compiling paper copies of all of the obituaries. I will make inquiry on your behalf to see if he has this particular obituary in hard copy. If he does, I'll have him scan it, and I will forward it to you. I checked the online "Mineral Wells Index" archive section and this obituary predates their archives. I also checked the Palo Pinto County, TXGenWeb Project for you, and its search engine didn't pull up this obituary. I originally used the microfilm in the Mineral Wells Library.

RE: Leo Earl Freeman
I am afraid that you have misunderstood the request. I have not asked you to delete your file. Duplicate files have been created so as to provide the cemetery plot #s, data source citations, and linkages to other burials for all the burials in the cemetery at find-a-grave. We now have reduced the number of duplicates within the cemetery to only 44, and the above referenced items are in place for all 915 known burials within the cemetery.

I notice that you have not yet deleted your file. Please don't. I would request that you transfer the data from the duplicate file to yours and then I will delete the one I created. The other options were suggested as a convenience to you, i.e. transfer your file and the date of its creation and you as the creator are preserved. I then take on the task of transferring the data from the duplicate to the original and then delete the duplicate. The third option was simply to delete your file. There wasn't a recommended option. There was simply a request for your assistance in completing the presentation of Sturdivant Cemetery at find-a-grave.

Carol:

Regarding my post on 7-10-10, you only have one burial in Sturdivant Cemetery for which a duplicate has been created, i.e. Leo Earl Freeman #21844218. Thanks!

Sturdivant Cemetery
I have been working with the Sturdivant Cemetery Association on the presentation of this cemetery at find-a-grave. The goal is to include burial plot descriptors, data sources, and links to other burials - for each burial. To ensure that this was accomplished, duplicates have been created for approximately 75 burials. The intent is now to delete the duplicates after working with the other submitters. This can be accomplished in one of three ways. (1) Files can be transferred to me for my management and I will retain the original submitter information in place and delete the duplicate file I created. (2) Duplicate files can simply be deleted by the original submitter. (3) I can delete the duplicate files I created after the new data has been copied by the original submitter into their own files, who retain management of their creations.

You are a contributor for Sturdivant Cemetery in Palo Pinto Co., TX, at find-a-grave. Your assistance in this process is important and will be greatly appreciated. If you would like I can detail the files in question. Thanks!

Wanted to say I am sorry
Carol, I completely forgot your request for another pic of Sarah Webster in Elmwood cemetery. I am going out there this week and I will get a pic then and post it to her memorial. Sorry it has taken me so long to get around to it. But it will be there by this coming weekend.
