RE: obituary
OK, I feel silly. I sent out several messages like this one to you, but in the rest of them I referenced who the obituary was for. So, please tell me and I will send it straight away. Thanks.

Yes, I'll transfer it. I travel the Gulf Coast, from Texas to Florida, but S. Tx has always been home. I'm in CC about once a month on business.
I'm a big believer in the findagrave idea - while researching my own genealogy, I've hit brick walls when I just had no further way of figuring out date of death, or location, etc. The amazing findagrave volunteers who unknowingly posted my family members solved so many unknowns, even added family I didn't know about previously - that I just decided to make volunteering as a photographer/researcher my avocation. Hearing from people such as yourself - who were looking for the final resting place of a family member, when documents and research just can't get it done - keeps me going.

RE: Joseph A. Williams
Hello Joe,

Glad this bit of info helps you. I've been documenting the Rose Hill cemetery for a couple of years now, one section at a time. The one where your grandfather is buried is one of the older sections. Based on the number of burials with Sept 14th 1919 death date, I realized that they must have all been hurricane victims. I'd bet there are 20 to 40 with that death date just within a 50 ft radius. I'm not surprised that the State couldn't help you with the transition from burial on the beach in a temporary grave to final burial in the cemetery. I wonder if the local genealogy group could have... did you ever try and contact them? or the public library? I've found the library has an enormous storehouse of information that is difficult to access unless you actually GO to the library. BTW - they have an online index for obituaries. If you find the names you're looking for, they will scan it and email it to you for free.

I'd also recommend you call the Rose Hill cemetery, and see if they have additional info on when your grandfather's body was moved. They keep excellent records and at a very minimum, they will have a date of burial.

Best Regards,

Good to hear from you Joe. This cemetery is about 15 miles away, when and if the weather is better, I will look for a second headstone. The temps have been below zero here at night and not warming up above freezing for the last couple of weeks. I will put your request on my list and get to it as soon as possible. As for a will I have no knowledge of one. I am from the line of Archelous Cornett.

RE: Oscar Lee Adams
I had previously made a whole block photo survey so I already had the photo on file. Grace M. is buried beside Oscar, I added a photo to her memorial #28648163. There is one other Adams in block 8, N.L. Adams, but their graves are far apart. Cemetery records has a "Rev. Adams" but I think it is a records error, if not, it is unmarked. You are setting in a boat. I assume you are a fisherman?

RE: D Blanche Browning
I am always happy to manage the family memorials. I never ask if it is outside the Find a Grave guidelines, but if you wouldn't mind, I would like to manage it if no one else closer has offered. Thanks once again for your assistance!

RE: William W. Arrington
I found your name beside a tribute to WWA in the Arrington Cemetery, Grimes County, Texas. It tells about his part in the Texas Revolution. It has your name attached to it. My wife's maiden name was Arrington. Her greatgrandfather was from Ala-Geo-Va. Just hoping.

Mark Morrow
Adolph Henry Weisenburg

Hi Joe,

I received your message about Adolph & Sarah Weisenburg. They were probably moved from Port Lavaca after the huge hurricane that caused flooding and destruction of many headstones. If their death certificates stated they were moved to Quero, then they were probably moved to Cuero, DeWitt County, Texas. They are not posted on any current Findagrave Memorials, so they could be at one of the 7 main cemeteries in Cuero, or one of the numerous family cemeteries there. Try and find a library with a book on Cemetery Transcriptions for Cuero, DeWitt County, Texas.

I hope the information is helpful.

Yes, I do. My mother compiled a book on Cincinnati, Arkansas and the McClain family is in it. It is out of print but would copy the pages for you and send it to you.
