Edward Bordsen @ 21296409
Hi Jeanie,

I need to give you a heads up, on 'Edward', as I truly believe, that Edward Bordsen was an adopted child (MAYBE), since Ole A. Antonsen Fladaunet (also known as Ole Knutsen) immigrated here from Canada(born in Norway) by railroad, and arrived here on May 8, 1911 and as for his wife 'Anna' came over in 1907 (also born in Norway) according to documents I found in Ancestry.com Ole, Anna and Edward were 'Boarders' in the 1920 US Census.

I am still researching this family as we speak, and to hopefully connect them with my G-Grandfather Knut W. Andersen (Possibly 'Antonsen'..., maybe it sounded like, when he speaking his Surname? Who knows...LOL).

Interesting theory would be this. Maybe when 'Anna' came over in 1907, she married a BORDSEN (when, unknown), and has a baby born in 1913 (Edward is listed as "6" in the 1920 Census, meaning he may have been born in 1914, not 1913, unless it was so close like Dec 30 - 31, 1913 or Jan 1 - 2 of 1914, its hard to say, unless their is a Birth Certificate, which I have not found as of yet.

ANYWAYS, lets say, Mr. BORDSEN passed on before 1919, and Anna, along with her son 'Edward Bordsen' meet Mr. Ole A. KNUTSEN (given time to court and date...OR MAYBE, they already knew eachother as 'friend' and later, decide to become family.

Hope this didn't confuse you and would love to hear you reply..., and GOD Bless!

I'm sorry but her grave is unmarked. I added the photo to her memorial where she lays. There's a little glare of the sun in the picture. I'll take another picture when the isn't glaring down.

That is fine. I just didn't remember who you were. I have added pictures of Obediah and his parents on there also. I hope we can be in better touch with each other. Sorry it has taken me a while. Different things have gone on.
Great that you reminded me of that. Any help I can be let me know.

RE: William Potter @ 26914647
Hi Jeanie!

Great to hear from you! Yes, William and Charity SKINNER Potter, had a son named John Wesley Potter who married Mary AUSTIN (she's a mystery, in her later years) and they had a bunch of kids...lol, 2-daughter's named Eliza (B: in 1849) and Lovina (B: in 1850/51), well Eliza is considered to be my G-Grand Aunt now and her sister "Lovina" is my G-Grandmother, BUT...it was "Eliza" who married my G-Grandfather Samuel E. Shurts/z (spelled different ways) first, but she passed after giving birth to a stillborn baby and Eliza died the following day(this information as collected some years back through MyFamily.com and Family Search.org, but that Info. no longer exist, and really no way to confirm the story). According to MyFamily and FamilySearch, "Eliza" died in Emporia, Lyons, Kansas May 20, 1870, BUT....she is buried at Prairie Township Cememtery in Holmesville, Ohio. Some say Eliza, was buried with her son Sam Jr, but again no real proof, no records can be found and wouldn't know where to look. Eliza's headstone doesn't say that she has anyone buried with her, making me think that the story of the 'stillborn baby' isn't true. There is mystery in the Shurts/z family (to me, anyway...LOL). My G-Grandfather Samuel decided to marry Eliza's younger sister, Lovina.

Darn, I'm just rattling on...LOL, forgive me. I'm 71, my lovely wife Patti and I live in Arizona.
I've been doing Family search 1999 and getting tired somewhat tired of it..., but I still dabble in it from time to time.

Would you like me to send an Invite?

Hi Jeanie,

I just need to know, if there is any record of a 'Charity Potter' being buried at this cemetery back around 1846 (possibly in December). If so, Charity, is the wife of William Potter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and GOD Bless!

Hans Rodal
Jeanie

I have removed the "Knutson" from the maiden name for Hans. I believe this is a mistake. I have researched on familysearch.org and have no reference or link to a Knutson and Hans Rodal. My GG Grandfather was William Steward Taylor. We believe the Steward is his mother's maiden name. But is shown correctly as William's middle name.

Thank You for your effort in this matter.

Many Blessings!

Famous Listings for some Aussie criminals
Jeanie:

In my humble opinion, Frank Green, Snowy Cutmore, Squizzy Taylor, etc. do not meet the Find A Grave criteria to be listed as famous. Although they might be famous criminals in Australia, they are not famous world wide.
An example would be a state senator in the United States. While he might be famous in say Nebraska, he is not considered famous for Find A Grave purposes.
Ned Kelly on the other hand, is famous worldwide and is appropriately listed as a famous person.
If you decide Frank Green is famous I think you would have to include Carl "Fat Boy" Williams just as famous. But in my opinion, neither one meets the famous person criteria for Find A Grave.

Memorials 37559723 and 37559727.

I have photographed around 80% of GAR and have pictures for 70% of the headstones uploaded to Find a Grave. I hope to come across the "Headstone" that Karen took to determine the area it is in. Once I have pictures for all of the headstones uploaded, I will check for duplicates and ask the cemetery staff if they can assist in solving your question and a few hundred others. The original set up of memorials came from the cemetery, so I would think that there is a good chance that there are two Charles Smiths.

Sorry I can not be of any additional help at this time. GAR has over 10,000 memorials and it takes a while. Been working on it since September.
Many Blessings!

Good Morning! I have transferred Miss Nancy to you. I'm so glad Family has found her! I have taken pictures of all the Headstones out in Potters' Field at Union Highland Cemetery, and Miss Nancy must not have a Headstone as there is no photo. Take care, and good Family hunting!

You're more than welcome - circumstances in this cemetery make fulfilling existing photo requests ... challenging, so I've decided to take lots of pics, pretty much at random, adding them to memorials. I honestly don't recall Mr. Hite's marker specifically, except that he's not in a columbarium at all, but an in-ground tombstone.
