RE: Leonard Fite 153194891
I have deleted all the "info" that was on it when it was transferred to me. Once it is yours, you can add whatever is accurate.

That's one reason I wanted to get it into the hands of family who would be able to get it right. I did some searching and discovered that info was not accurate.

I'll go ahead and transfer to you. If you decide you don't want to keep him, you can always transfer him back.

:-)

Leonard's memorial was transferred to me. Since you hold his parents' memorials, would you be interested in having Leonard's as well?

I have made the change on the cenotaph and have placed Bud in the Nickname field, as they advise us. A thought on his grandmother: The cemetery may not recommend relocation after a certain point because of deterioration of the containers. Concrete vaults have only been used in the last 50 years.

Hi Pat,

RE: Fite in Goshen Cemetery
I already transferred a Fite memorial to you, but asking for 7 is a bit much. Send me your info and I'd be happy to link it or include it.

RE: Tombstone of Jacob Fite
Not sure where you live, but I live in Gastonia. I was principal of North Belmont Elementary (1996-2000) which is just a block from Goshen Cemetery. On afternoons I would walk the cemetery and take pictures. On one one of those walks I discovered my fraternal GGGrandmother was buried there. Now to you questions. I took the original photo in 2007. I re-visited the grave today and took a few additional photos which I have added to the memorial. I deleted the original photo with one without chalk on it. I have since learned not to do that. The first photo shows Jacobs marker in the center of the photo. It is located about the center (side to side) and is about 3/4's toward the back of the cemetery. The stone is still up right but leaning forward and to the right when facing the marker. The marker behind his (looking west) is for Jacob N. Fite. It had fallen over and I stood it back up, however, I suspect it will topple back over before you visit. If I can be of additional help just ask. I would send you original photos but at present and unable to upload photos.

Marla (Mitchell) Burr
Peter Fite and Wife
I am confused. The Fite Family Book lists Barbara Hedenger as Peter's wife and the mother of his children.

Goshen Cemetery
I am planning a trip to see my ancestors graves. I was just making sure that Goshen Cemetery is located near the Goshen Presbyterian Church at 380 Woodlawn Ave?

Almira Salisbury Gifford
Pat,
Are you are descendent of Almira and Edward Gifford? If not, would you mind transferring their memorial to me? They are my wife's 4th great grandmother and grandfather.
Thank you,
Garry Boice

RE: Leota Coulter Fite Tyler
I do not know why you can't link the children it is just numbers. In the childrens family link under parents, Father: John's # is 13718169 and Mother: Leota # is 62846896 that should link them.

bio buttons
there will only be a way for you to do a bio on a memorial that you set up the memorial. If someone else set up the memorial, you will have to request that they add the bio information that you can send them.

RE: William Howard Fite
The reason, I think, you can't add children is that the persons children might be "living" and you can't add living individuals or "survivors", thats why they don't want you to add complete obits cause they don't want survivors listed.

RE: William Howard Fite
what do you mean add them? You can link them under family links if it is your memorial. If it's not yours you have to ask the person who set it up to do it for you.

I would be more than happy to link her to her parents, but you need to send me her parents Memorial #'s.
And yes, you may use my tombstone picture for your genealogy tree.

Cheryl
Three great uncle Daniel Boon
Daniel Boon was a brother to my three great grandfather Jesse Boon who was married to Nancy Lassetter. They are both buried at the Lassetter Cemetery, Whitesburg, Carroll, GA (# 60227600 and 60227155).

Jesse and Nancy's daughter, Martha, my great great grandmother, married Thomas Frances Duke in Carroll County. Thomas was injured at the first battle of Manassas and died three weeks later. His youngest child, my great grandmother, Georgia (Duke) Rickard was only five months old so never knew her father.

In 1872, Martha's family and 12 others chartered a train and removed from GA to TX. Martha is buried at Old Eolian Cemetery, Eolian, Stephens, TX; she has a memorial on Find a Grave. My great grandparents Rickard are buried at Brown Cemetery, Aledo, Parker, TX.

My Rickard great grandparents had many children. Just from their line alone, I have relatives all over the state of TX!

I'd love to "meet" any relatives and share.

My name is Eric Scott Green, and George Fite would be my greatx4 grandfather. His father is David Fite and is burried at the Goshen Cem. Do you have any additional information on George and his wife Susan, and the Cathey connection to the family? Thanks so much, I am planning to come to the cemetary as soon as possible.
