Not sure if this is the same person, although unique name is the same. Viva was my great grandmother on my mother's side and I have not heard of a daughter named Meryl. Viva was married previously and will get into my geneolgy tree today to find that info out. She could have had other children with previous husbands.I will be happy to help out as much as I can. I have a picture of her headstone that i will have to dig up. She is buried in Kalispell Montana at the Demersville cemetery.

Thanks for the find on his death location. No wonder I couldn't find it in Oregon! I was away from my computer for a while but now I'm back. The death location has been added and Oregon note deleted.

I'm about to post the photo you requested of Nellie Loring's gravestone. Beside her was the marker for Frank Loring (1859-1948), memorial # 71943006, and I have posted a photo for that grave as well.

|Mark's Mom||RE: Mary Curtis|
I removed the Conery name from Mary's memorial. I have gone back trying to research who might have sent me the information, with no luck. That is why now I cut and paste the information and the contributor number.
I did do some research this morning and found according to the 1900 Federal Census seven of eight children born to Mary were still living at that time. As far as I can tell, she had seven children with Benjamin Smartt and one with Andrew Jackson Curtis. If you would like their names, I would be happy to send you the information. Also, do you have any first names to go with the Conery last name ? Maybe I can help in some way with your research.
I am sorry for any problems the incorrect information might have caused.

George Garrison is indeed buried at Mission City, but he's located in a large block without markers. I've uploaded a picture of the area. It's a beautiful green area with quite a few large shade trees. Dottie

|Deb Wilson||RE: burials in Winema Cemetery|
The information in the back of the Winema Cemetery book had not been updated or corrected for years. That is why Linda Freeman and myself decided to take on this project. Our goal is to try and print an updated book soon. We have been on this project for over two years now. Our information came from old Redman books, maps and obituary's and hours of research.
Thank-you for your interest

Anita, Linda Freeman and myself have been working with the Winema Cemetery to update their files. Because of old maps and lots of research we were able to locate the area of your family members in their unmarked graves. The information is from public records from Siskiyou Co.
Thank-you for caring for your family members.

The monument is located where the cemetery reading lists for Hannah and D Loring but the only thing on it is the 3 children: Arthur, Jesse, and Lilie. I have posted the picture under the children's names.

Thank you for letting me know about the information put on Ancestry. I will be sure to look it up and see what information is there so that I can do an update on my information that I have.
I still need to find the headstone of the daughter Sophia Brown and her husband I am thinking within the week I can get out there and look.

Yes I finally got to look again for Laura's stone and did not find it she is buried approximately on the other side of her husband Jonathan while his second wife is next to him on the other side.
So even though there is no stone at least a picture of the area would be a way to honor her. I am related through Jonathan and Margaret his second wife.

|Kelli Housley||RE: Daniel Davis|
Hey, thank you for letting me know! Yeah, I was a bit wrapped up in attempting to read some of those worn, older headstones, so thank you for letting me know - I went ahead and removed the picture I took. If the *other* Daniel Davis (aka the one I thought I was taking a picture of) is in that section, then I guarantee that his headstone is missing or worn down beyond readability - I searched pretty thoroughly, but unfortunately some older stones just are not there anymore or in the right condition for us to see them today. It makes me sad when I see those stones, but there really isn't anything we can really do, is there? Thank you again for alerting me to my mistake, I'm glad I could correct that potential misinformation! So sorry about the other headstones though!! Good luck in your future genealogy-related searches :)

|Kelli Housley||Daniel Davis|
I went to Woodland Cemetery today and took a photo of Daniel Davis's headstone. I searched the section pretty thoroughly, but didn't see any other Davis (or Davies) headstones - unfortunately, I think that if those are not lost/broken/buried/etc, they are too weathered to read anything. To the left of Daniel's headstone there seemed to be graves with no markers/headstones missing, simply because of how far it was to the next headstone. I believe (or my best hunch) is that the other ones you are looking for are missing now. I looked hard, and can certainly try again, but I really believe they are missing or unmarked. So sorry, but at least it's better to get to see the one than none at all!

|Tamara Burlingame||RE: Re: Dunning headstone....|
Oh, my goodness...Yes, i too am really pleased that her stone is still standing..and there isnt alot of stone's left still standing in any kind of its original condition, so to speak...this cemetery is never mowed and or very little is done to fix the broken and damaged stones...its very sad to see that the county or state isnt taking better care of this very old cemetery. In the way back corner there is a HUGH pine which fell and is still lying close to the embankment which will surely big a job to take care of but if it isnt moved the stone's next to it and beyond it will surely be ruined if by chance it or any other trees fall...this back section is in a very wooded area. I wish someone would take the time to make somebody clean this cemetery up and take care of it and its people who at their finial resting place...
