I thought I had this one done, and just found out I hadn't, sorry for the delay, I hope you'll be able to add what you found!

RE: Bryant
Shirley I have looked and looked to find the one who was killed in the war, I'm wondering if maybe they never knew for quite some time that he WAS killed. If memory is right it was n Nov 1, 1918 & I've searched into 1919 for quite away with no results. You would think that would be big news of the lose, the mother was a "Gold Star Mother". MIA for some until much later. I don't know anything about the family, only what was in the obits.

You had me worried Shirley, when you weren't adding the obits I sent, I thought "well here's more I shouldn't have transferred, they're not going to add a thing to the memorials." So was happy to hear from you, and see you have added them now. I never found any obit for the others yet, but will see if I can before sending them on. It's easier that way. I'm always happy when family can add things, more meaningful, they know who they were. Luella

George Walker Roff
George Walker Roff was married to Jettie Arrington. He was not married to Jettie Arrington Gray. Ruby Gray was married to George Walter Roff. George Walter registered for the Draft for World War I; his mother was Fannie M. Roff and he was a resident of Webster Groves, MO. The 1930 Census shows Ruby and George W. Roff in the household of Oscar M. Gray in St. Charles, MO. It shows his parents were both born Missouri. Charles Walker Roff was living in Wichita Falls, TX where his parents were shown as born in Ohio and Illinois. I know for sure that Charles Walker Roff's father Charles H. Roff was born in Coshocton Co., OH.

Jettie Arrington Roff was also buried in Galveston Memorial Park Park in Hitchcock, Galveston Co., TX.

Russell Price Bryant Find A Grave Memorial# 70068598
I found the following burial:

Russell P. Bryant
Birth: 1941
Death: 1942
Old Paint Lick Cemetery
Paint Lick
Garrard County
Kentucky, USA
Find A Grave Memorial# 127085838

As you know the parents of Russell Price Bryant ( Find A Grave Memorial# 70068598)
were George Allen Bryant and Hallie Lee Lamb Bryant.

In 1942 George Allen Bryant's parents were living but his grand parents, Greenberry Bryant & Mary Jane Hiatt Bryant,
were deceased and buried in Old Paint Lick Cemetery. There are many Bryants from this family in the Old Paint Lick Cemetery.

Thus I think it likely in 1942 that George would bury his son in the Bryant family plot, in the Old Paint Lick Cemetery in Paint Lick,
Garrard County, Kentucky.

Much of what I learned about this family after 1940 I learned from you. Thank you for the information you shared.
Please let me know if you think Russell Price Bryant & Russell P. Bryant are the same baby. Best Regards, Judy Wilkinson

Rice Powe
As far as I can find, neither Rice nor his wife, Harriet, died in Oregon. Rice was living in Garrard County, Kentucky in 1840 (the year he died) and probably died there.

RE: Eliza S. Brown
I found a biography for the man I believe to be her husband, Henry Cline. The death date isn't exactly the same, but it is very close and the birthdays match. See below:

Biography of Henry Cline from the Atlas of Putnam Co., Indiana: to which are added various maps, history, statistics (published 1879):

Cline, Henry, P.O. Ashby's Mills, Farmer, Section 12; was born in Shelby county, Ky., June 16, 1810; son of Jacob and Elizabeth Yount-Cline, natives of Shelby County; settled in this township [Franklin] and county in 1841. Married, June 2, of the same year, Julia Ann Bell, born in Shelby County, Kentucky., May 15, 1815; their children's names are as follows: David (deceased), Jane, John, Robert, Margaret and Julia Ann. Mrs. Cline died February 26, 1850. Married, January 10, 1854, Eliza S. Brown, born April 6, 1820, and died January 2, 1860, having borne one boy--Benjamin. His present wife, Barbara Ann Weddle, widow of Andrew Weddle, and daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Apple; he married November 13, 1860. She was born in Ohio, November 20, 1819, and by her first marriage had seven children; has borne to Mr. Cline two--William (deceased), and Joseph. Mr. Cline is of German descent; his father and mother's father were soldiers in the Indian wars of Kentucky. He now owns 300 acres of land, the result of his own and family's industry; is strongly in favor of the temperance movement, and does what lies in his power to advance it. Politically, he is a Democrat. Few are better known in the county for honesty and sincerity of purpose.

RE: Walker Ennis
Thank you for the info, but I have all that. The question has to do with the other Walker, 1827-1897 (who is he?), Washburn and Mary Ellen Melick Ennis and where the info came from that they are all buried in the Cuba cemetery. I can find no markers, or any document that tells they are buried there. Perhaps it came from church records?

Walker Ennis
I am researching the Ennis family. I have found the head stone for Walker, born in 1807, but there are three entries that I have questions. 1. Walker Ennis b: Mar 28, 1827, d: Dec. 11, 1897. Can not connect him and who was he and where did the information come from? 2. Washburn Ennis. I found his obit but nothing was said about the burial place. Where was that found? 3. Mary Ellen Melick Ennis. Really in the dark with her. Haven't found anything on her. Where was that info found? I've always thought they were all there, but could find no evidence of it. Also, assuming Washburn and Mary Ellen were divorced. Do you have anything on that?
Thanks for all your help. Linda

Tom Eichelberger
Andrew Hoke & Barbra Eichelberger
Hi Shirley,

My name is Thomas Allman Eichelberger and have been working on my family history and I am stuck on Andrew Hoke and Maria Barbara Eichelberger. So on the site it says:

Birth: Mar. 20, 1734
York County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Jan. 3, 1800
Jefferson County
Kentucky, USA

And on the Headstone it says Andrew died Jan 3, 1800 at age 88. So that would put his birth date at and around 1712. But it has his birth at Mar. 20, 1734 so I want to find out the correct date. Because I am working on my great grandmother and it says she died Mar. 19, 1814 at age 79. So that would put her birth date at and around 1735. But I have a record that she is born in 1724 before she came to america. So I want to find out what is the correct dates. So I want to see if Andrew Hoke was born in 1712.

So if you have any information that you could share that would be awesome!
Let me know

Hilda Hine Dimancheff
Hi, Shirley,

I sent my mother's cousin a birthday card which was returned to me. I googled her to find out if she had died. When I went to, I read your note about not yet finding Hilda's date of death. I assume that you were informed of her death, however. Please let me know if you have any other information.

She would have been 95 this week.

Thanks for your help,

Carol McLary

You are not wrong. All the info you have is correct, but WR was married a few times. His last wife was Katie (married 1886), but they divorced in 1908. He was married to Lucinda Spangler (1870), Christina (Croft) Holt (1875) & Cordelia Harrison (1883).
