RE: Custis

You bet! I do a lot of research in Kentucky and I make frequent trips to the Cave Hill Cemetery.

I have some digital images of some death certs that I would like to post but can't remember the Find A Grave rules for those. I think it is okay as long as they are documented ... to cover copyright. Honestly, I can't image someone getting upset over posting obits. Do you know? I've got a couple of great ones with pictures... for Cave Hill, and I think you manage them.

Thanks Much. Appreciate your quick response. You are fast!

David King (#48718958) I wanted to be sure that I had the correct Jerome McKinley and now I am sure. If you would transfer this over to me, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Jane. If you can fix this, that will be great. Then you can transfer it to me. I don't know if I would be able to straighten it out. I am heading for 84 and trying to stay out of the graveyard myself.

Have a great day.

Mary Crump / Hobart Crump
Hello again,

I agree with you in thinking that Mary Crump's (#130603991) death certificate listed the incorrect birth date for her. Her stone definitely says 1926 - 1952, and I know you have other documents that also read 1926. Thanks so much!

I'll get to the library next week and we can get to the bottom of this. Will that help?? Making another run at CH tomorrow.

Mary Crump

Would you mind checking the correct memorial for the spouse of Hobart Crump (#130603991)? I may be overlooking something, but it looks like his spouse Mary should be #160969517, and not #130603991. I do not know these families personally, but I'm seeing in that Hobart was married to Mary A. Crump and their ages were pretty close together. Just wanted to ask what you thought. Thanks very much.

Thomas Horace Hastings
He could qualify for famous status but that's up to Find-a-Grave .OK I didn't know that's the way it worked .I haven't read up on that part of it .well thank you for submitting him. I was raised in Hasting Fl. and lived there for 32 yrs. and my mother was also raised there all her life and her father was also from the age of 6

I have found Amanda to be Mandy on some items. The way they wrote back then, Mandy might look like Maud?????

The Town of Hastings, Florida, named after Thomas Horace Hastings (1860 1897)This would make him somewhat famous being the cousin of Henry Morrison Flagler (January 2, 1830 May 20, 1913) was an American industrialist and a founder of Standard Oil. He was also a key figure in the development of the Atlantic coast of Florida and founder of what became the Florida East Coast Railway. He is known as the father of both Miami and Palm Beach, Florida.

This is Jerome's family tree. His mother was Amanda J. Hopewell. Lizzie is my great grandmother.

RE: Chew

Thank you for the transfers. I do not know Clair Chew. An 1880 Louisville Directory does list a Samuel H. Chew in addition to Albert G. Chew, but I have no information on him or his family.

You mention several children on her page. The Margaret and Jerry O'Leary that I know had three children and 2 died very young. Only one girl, Elenora, lived to adulthood. Please verify. Thanks so much.

Hello Jayne,

DUH!(me) After looking again, I see the links. Sorry I got them exactly backwards.

Thank you for your reply - I appreciate all of the connections you've made and all of the work in Eastern Cemetery. What a train wreck, it just makes me boil when I think too long about those crooks and what they did for money.

I'm still trying to connect the other Harrods in Eastern, but just getting them found is the first step.

Have a great day!
