I believe this James Wiley Morton was the father of my Great grandmother Sophronia(Morton) Oliver-Find A Grave Memorial# 65772263. I found them linked in the 1900 census(I can't link the address), along with Lucy M Morton, Mary E Morton, Ethel E Morton living at home at the time of the census. It states there were 3 children not living, 7 living. James A Morton is another child to link-Find A Grave Memorial# 28024072. I am not sure who the other 2 children were. Thank you.

This site is for memorials only, not for genealogy research…trying to identifying individuals in pictures, photo numbers, much of your included information is irrevelant.
A bio of the person is most appropriate, such as the one above. It identifies the person’s parents and siblings…and helps in adding links to the various family member.

Thank you so much for linking families together. I still show "pending edits" to be linked from Sept. 9th for George/Wester/Elrod. Are they not showing on your edit box? If not, I will enter again. Nancy 9/30/2015

Dalton, we share the same 3rd great grandparents. Your research you sent me probably already gave me that info. Thanks for your quick reply. Also, I was in Alabama (Alabaster) in Feb. to visit my youngest son and his family. I wasn't able to coordinate the visit with the Four Families Reunion, unfortunately. I enjoy the newsletter and maybe some day I'll be able to attend the reunion.

Dalton, i am doing research on this family for a friend. i have a question concerning JR Nix birth. You and others show it as 1880 but he shows up in the 1880 census living with his parents and Daniel C and is listed as 6months old. Therefore, would he not have been born in 1879? Also, he gives his DOB as 1879 in his wwI draft card and list nearest relative Fannie Viola Nix. I was just making sure i had the correct person. thanks wes

Hi Dalton! We conversed via email a couple of years ago when i had my ances. membership up, sorry we didn't make it to the reunion that september! Here's my question: Elizabeth Ann Holden Nix! I just got a one month membership and have been working a bit on Jack's history (Harris-Bynum-Walker etc) and boy, is there a ton of confusing info re Elizabeth Ann Holden! How do you verify the info? Are you still confident of the names you put on Eliz.Holden Nix's memorial page? I've been hit with so many other names i've gotten dizzy with it! Help! I trust your research.

I noticed that you duplicated your own memorial of John T Thompson's.
One memorial has his military marker while the has a granite marker. Please merge the two which you have the time.

Jennings Nix was my 4x Great Grandfather.
Jesse Bynum was my 2x Great Grandfather.
We are related some how. I will let you figure that one out. LOL
I was wondering if you knew where Silas Herman Bynum, Son of Jesse, is buried. I can't find him on Find A Grave. Also, looking for his wife, Verna Nix.
The last time I was at the Gadsden Library I came across where they were buried but can't find it in my notes.

Thank you so much for the transfer of my relative. I deeply appreciate your kindness in doing that for me.
I also wanted to thank you for the wonderful memorials that you have placed on Find A Grave and for all the time and effort you have put into walking the cemeteries, writing down the information and taking the photos. That is a great undertaking, and is much appreciated.
Thank you for letting me know that you are working on the Morton Family. I don't have any family connections to them, that I know of at the present time, but If I should learn of any at a later date...I will be sure to let you know.
Until Later.....God Bless,
