Math Major
I just saw that you are also a math major. Genealogy is perfect for CPA's, engineers and math majors!

I am also a math major and my husband is an engineer. ACCURATE genealogy requires analytical skills - which draws me. Your organization, clarity and "pondering" shows the same "solving the problem" techniques that math is all about.

Yay! "Math is our friend"

Thanks again!
Sally

RE: Alco Cemetery at Brewton, AL
Bruce,

I am so appreciative of you efforts = Oh, my GOODNESS!!

You are a thorough genealogist and a wonderful person to try to help.

I am also leaning toward Pilgrim's Rest, but 'will also continue to try to locate John William Holder for his death/burial info before I create a Memorial for Ardelia Jane "Della" Manning Holder.

You have a terrific handle on the resources in that area. Way to go.

Respectfully,
Sally

"Alco Cemetery" Brewton, AL
Do you know if Union Cemetery might have been called "Alco Cem" in 1944?

An Escambia Co., AL woman suggested that "Alco Cemetery" might be the same as Union Cemetery or Pilgrims' Rest Cemetery which are both in the Alco Community.

I have the 1944 Alabama Death Certificate for a woman named Ardelia Jane "Della" Manning Holder [=Mrs. John W. Holder] who was buried in "Alco Cem., Brewton" She d 18 April 1944 at 104 Hickory St., Brewton, Escambia, AL where she had lived for 31 years (per the DC). Many of her immediate family members either left the area or are buried in unmarked graves elsewhere except for a brother (Mathew Manning 1858-1943 buried in Pollard Cemetery).

Della's husband survived her, but I have not yet found death or burial information for him.

I want to create a Memorial for Della to link her to her parents and siblings for whom I have further information. I am fairly certain she had no children. The only m I have found was to John William Holder in 1919 when she was 51 years old.

All to say: I'd like to know where ALCO CEMETERY was so I can identify her burial location there.

Respectfully,

Hi Bruce, Thanks for getting photos for Bill Seiffert. I was wondering if, the next time you go to the cemetery, you would check for me and see if my sister Barbara's tombstone has been placed yet. Would like to have a photo if you can get it.

Norred Cemetery
Hi, I see you added the listings for the Old Norred Cemetery in Wilcox Co, AL. I was wondering if you had any more notes on the cemetery with reference to any unmarked graves? My grandmothers notes state that Henry Rufus Compton was buried there in an unmarked grave and I'm curious as to if you had noticed any unmarked graves also. Just trying to track him down. Thank you.

RE: Emmett Cemetery
Thanks Bruce for the information and the prompt reply. Unfortunately, I will not get to Pensacola until late Wed. Would love to meet you. I have not been to the West Florida Genealogical Library. That may actually be a more fruitful visit than the cemetery at this point. Both branches of my mother's family tree have deep roots in northwest Florida. Maybe I will save the cemetery visit until it's cooler and I can confirm the connection.
Thanks again, Mona

Emmett Cemetery
Hi
Thanks for the work you have done for Find-a-Grave. I believe that I am descended from the McArthur family interned at Emmett Cemetery. I am planning to visit my parents in Pensacola this week and would like to visit the cemetery. Could you offer any help in locating it?
Thanks, Mona

Thank you for letting me know that I put that memorial in the wrong cemetery. Her memorial is already up at the other cemetery. I will delete mine off after I reword the obit and ask the other contributor to add to the bio.

Thank you, CJ

RE: Many thanks!
The Enzor Family has a long history in Okaloosa County. Google "Enzor Brothers Hospital" to read about them if you have any time. Dr. Olin Oliver Enzor married my Grandfather's sister, Lois. My Grandfather, Obie Weatherky, was administrator of their hospital.

Judy was the youngest of 3 sisters. Their mother and father once owned a restaurant called "Enzor Sisters"

Again, I thank you!
