RE: Devere and Helen NELSON
I'm glad enough of that message got through. I don't know what happened. It was pouring rain when I took the pictures - too funny! At least it was cooled off.

RE: Marcia Jean JULIA?
Okay - Devere Nelson (1897 - 1946) and Helen Swanson Nelson (1902 -1985) are buried between them, if you want to add them. Y

RE: Marcia Jean JULIA?
My sister is like that, too. I turned my database over to her and she whipped it into shape on ancestry. I don't mind it being in her name. The temp. is dropping and I'm getting ready to head to Galesburg - I've got all the requested names off Find a grave written in a little notebook and I'm just going to wander the acres up there until I find some of them. I have spent hours walking cemeteries - it's good for the "figure," and it fulfills some wishes on Find A Grave. I already have over 20,000 pictures. My three BIG cemeteries are Aspen Grove in Burlington, IA; Memorial Park in Galesburg; and Springdale Cem. in Peoria. When you have those three cemeteries, you're pretty much in the hunt for the rest of your life.

I'm glad you got it. I didn't buy the Julia addition, either. I've spent hours adding obituaries and the like to ancestry - pretty much a waste of time. I'll get the pictures from Galesburg and see where that leaves you.

I got 30 full-page files from one of my Find A Grave friends - oh, Lordy - I'm going through them, adding the information. I send info. from anywhere I find it and let the person who created the file decide whether to add it or not, so please don't be shy about rejecting anything I send.

I'll be happy to get the pictures. It will take a couple weeks - it looks like the hot temps are with us for a while.

Thank You
Thanks for the link - I'm waiting out the hot weather and I'll be out at Galesburg taking more pictures - I'll look for these two stones.

I caught the genealogy bug in 1969! I had my own web sites with stones and stories until free web sites went away. Then I found Find A Grave - actually my sister found it a few months before I did.

I'm getting ready to do Terre Haute Cemetery (getting close to having all the stones photographed) and Raritan, IL - it's my second cemetery after Terre Haute. I always stop and fill the cameras in Galesburg on my way home. Terre Haute had 32 stones photographed when I started - now it's over a thousand. I've added about 500 photographs at far

Well, one step at a time. First Graceland, although some folks were cremated at Graceland and buried at Roseland. I have my fingesr crossed that she is in Graceland also. Bob Lerch

I don't have access to cemetery records, but I am glad help where I can. I mostly take photos. Please email the cemetery at Give Jan (John) Sundholm's name and death date (approximate if neccesary) and ask if he is there, where his burial location is and if it has a marker. They are very helpful though it may take a week or two. The name of the lot owner may also be of interest. Perhaps you should provide Christina's name as the possible owner/purchaser. I warn you he may be buried there, but many graves are not marked. There is a large number of Swedes represented in this cemetery. I think your chances a very good. Best Wishes, Bob Lerch

Hi Joanna,

Thank you for correcting my mistake. I've made the changes and added the bio you sent.

Kind regards,

Bruce Rittenhouse

I am not in the area of Hanston cemetery but I have put in a picture request to see if Bruce has a stone there. You might call the cemetery office and ask about your "transfer of remains" request.
Good Luck

Tropico Gravers
Luther Bartron 85344968
Hi Joanna,

I will edit his middle name and nickname to match the edit you sent, but I will not be changing his surname to Cupp Bartron. If you look at the Find A Grave naming conventions, if you want to concatenate a surname that way it has to either match the name on the marker or the person's legal surname. In this case it matches neither. The social security administration had his legal surname as Bartron, the cemetery website had Bartron, and his marker says Bartron. I will put a note in his bio section explaining the situation, but it is not appropriate in a case like this to change the surname to something that guarantees no one will ever be able to find the memorial again, which is what would happen if his surname is changed to Cupp Bartron.

RE: George and Rosa Martin
Glad to be of any help I can be. I didn't add their parents to their bio's because those hints where unconfirmed. When you are sure I will add the information for their parents even if we can't find a Find A Grave#. Are George and Rosa relatives? They are very distant relatives of my husbands. So if you would like to manage their memorials let me know. Susan

George and Rosa Martin
Try John New Martin and Louisa Anna Tolley Martin for George.

Thank you for the obits. Always like to add history when possible. Try Erastus Nelson Seeley 1822-1901 and Martha Jane Wilcox Seeley for Rosa's parents.

James Emmet Watson
I have accepted this based on your argument but please be aware that census records are wrong all the time too. Some census workers rounded births off too--in this case 1859 rounded to 1860. I have seen it all the time. Since obit is dated 1926 I'm pretty sure that is correct. Lincoln Cemetery records are not the best in the world having over 500 sites in this cemetery and talking to retired sexton for years. Is there a tombstone for James Watson's father in Lincoln? I noticed you added him at Lincoln. Richard

RE: Siantha Adams
My 3rd great uncle, John Peacock, was in fact in Osage County in the 1880s though I never knew why he made the move. Ex-pats? I've never heard the term.

Siantha Adams
I saw the correction you suggested for Siantha Adams Austin Peacock and would be happy to add the information. Do you know if her first husband has a memorial and if so, what is his memorial number?
Are you a relative of Siantha's? Her second husband, John Peacock, was brother to my 4th great grandfather.
