Robert Miller, Our 2nd Great Grandfather Correstions Requested
Hi Sharon,
First, Thank you for the great story written about Robert Miller who was my husband, Geoff's 2nd Great Grandfather. We had purchased the GAR Marker for his grave in the Fairview Cem. which is located in the County of Clinton, here, in Au Sable Forks, New York <>
I need to let you know some facts in hopes that you will make the corrects in regards to Robert Miller. These are the facts:

1~ Robert Miller was *BORN here, in Au Sable Forks, County of Essex, New York. <>
2~ Robert DIED at his home which was formerly known as Rome Street, here, in Au Sable Forks (County of Essex). He was wearing his Civil War hat as he often did, but he was sitting on his *Front Porch which faces the West Branch of the Au Sable River, but across the road from the river itself. <>
3~ Robert's family home was the 4th house down from the J & J Roger Company "Pulp Mill" located on the Essex Co. side of Au Sable Forks. Today, the former Robert Miller house is located on the corner of Church Lane and Au Sable Drive, and it belongs to a Family Friends of ours, June Bruno Hart. <>

Sharon, Thank you for taking the time to read our request,. I t is important that we have as many facts right as possible. Especially, since Robert still has so many relatives, who reside, here in Au Sable Forks, New York and it is us who look after Robert and Julia's grave. <> (Oh, Au Sable Chasm is located in Keeseville, New York, and none of the Miller ever lived or died there.)

The Baby that was laid to rest behind the Robert and Julia Miller stone was their Great Grandson, Joyce L. Miller. Uncle Joyce was the Twin son, of Arthur and Florence Miller, Geoff's Grandparents. He was but 3 weeks of age when a died. His Twin brother was Uncle Royce W. Miller.

I hope this info is helpful. If you need to contact me ...please feel free to do so. We are simply trying to be of help. THANKS Again, Sharon.

Respectfully Yours,

Geoff and Sharron Hewston
Geoff's Mother is Myrtle Miller ~ Hewston ~ Pietsh, daughter of Arthur and Florence Miller.

Thank you so much for your response. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I appreciate your effects in helping people connect with their families. Your work has been in invaluable to those of us who are trying to connect with their ancestors. This is why when I find documentation for my family members I enter them into the Find a Grave websight. What I was trying to do for Ellen is help her decendants find her and find out (somewhat) about her. I would like to connect both enteries together if possible.

I apologize for the difference between the obituary death date and that of the tomb but my late father visited his aunt Catie Irwin more than 20 years after her stated death. This is one case where I would have go with the obituary date.

This is my grandpa's grave. It means a lot to me that you put this on here. I never met him because he died when my mom was 7.

Duplicate memorial
Sharon -- I am more than willing to delete the duplicate memorial, but I think it would be better to get the children re-linked to the original memorial before deleting it. The memorials of the four children linked to this memorial were created by four different contributors. Some of the names I recognize as people that I have tried to contact in the past yet got no response. -- I believe that I heard something about "merging" memorials, and in the case of a merge the record is credited to the first contributor. If two memorials can be merged I don't know how to go about doing it, do you? The advantage of merging (if really possible) would be that the links of children would not get messed up.-- I have tried to contact Find-a-Grave to ask this question, but have not succeeded. Have you had any luck? If so, what address did you use?

Demarse in Holy Name Cemetery, Au Sable Forks, NY
Found the headstone of Emily, Euclid and Eustace Demerse. You might want to change name "Demarse" to "Demerse" for all three as well as link Eustace as husband, Emily as wife and Euclid as son.

RE: memorial # 89800557

I think that Laura may be related to a family that I am currently researching. It looks like from the picture that right where the break in the stone is located it says "daughter of". If you ever get by there to check that out, it would be very much appreciated but no hurry. Thanks for taking a picture of the stone. It really looks like a beautifully carved one.

Joseph Carpenter in Knob Creek UMC Cemetery
Your memorial for Joseph #21995094 in Knob Creek cemetery seems to be a duplicate of another #21995094 in the same cemetery that is almost exactly alike ...age 26 on both, died Oct. 11 or 14 in 1815 or 1845. To me, your photo's date looks like Oct. 14 but I am unsure as to the year. I am trying to decide which is correct as it will make a difference in his placement in my family tree. Perhaps the 5 year time difference could have made a difference in the appearance of the numbers on the stone. Thanks for any help.

Vivian Pharr Riddick
Warren Gibson Cabaniss
After reading your message, I wanted to let you know that I have done extensive research on my family history and I have in place 10 family members that I have trained on the Find A Grave website. They are age 20 - 65 so that after I am dead and long gone they will be able to keep my family legacy going on for years to come and they can do as I have done with them. I have found other children, aunts, uncles that I wish to connect with Waren Cabaniss. I would appreciate with sincerity that you transfer the Cabiniss files over to me to manage their records. I sincerely appreciate you helping me with this request. I have old obituaries and pictures that I would like to put out there given to me by family members. Thanking you in advance for your consideration. Jean Freeman & Vivian Pharr Riddick
