RE: Many thanks
Tom,

I am guessing that the original poster got her information from the OH Headstone Inscription book for the Lorain County cemeteries. Also, there are many headstones that are illegible, so maybe he does have a headstone, but I didn't find one.

When I get out to the cemetery again, I'll try to contact James Sheffield (440-775-7147) to find out where he may have been buried. Mr. Sheffield has helped me in the past.

RE: Albert W. Cornell, Rome Center
Greetings:

Regarding your question:

In the 1840 fed census for Lenawee county there is a Charles Cornell with 6 people living in his household. In the 1850 census Charles is said to be born in NY and Hannah in Connecticut.

In the 1860 fed census neither Albert or Charles are found, and Hannah died before that census. Can't read the Mother's name on Albert's death certificate.

Some of the trees on ancestry say Charles died in Nov 1860, but I haven't found any information confirming that - he should have been in the 1860 census. Albert married Martha Bates in 1860, unfortunately that document didn't mention the parents of the groom.

Hannah may be the second wife of Charles, but am unsure.

What do you think?

Thanks for the fix! That was my mistake. I have too many things going on at once that that's what happens. Thanks for catching the mixup!

Found birth and death information for the unnamed son. He was born Feb. 1, 1910, and died at age 3 days on Feb. 4, 1910. Apparently the poor baby had spina bifida.

I meant to say V/R, Births for Westport and Dartmouth can be tricky.

I show eleven kids were in that family. It appears that the 1st two were born in Dartmouth and the rest were born in Westport. Westport V/R can be tricky. Sometimes the births were recorded with no first names (even for the live births, not just the stillbirths) and the babies were named later.

Hello,

Your welcome! No, I'm not a member of the Cornell Family. Although, I'm extremely distantly related through the Tallmans to the Bosworths. Very distant, way back. Actually, I've made a project for myself of getting the memorials in the Dartmouth/Westport cemeteries updated and linked to family members. I hope it was of some help to you! Best of luck in your search!

RE: Sally Ann Cornell
Hello Tom,

Sorry for the very late reply on your requests. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis. Also I have been off line for a very long time due to personal reasons.

You were asking me about Sally, Howard and Eva Cornell. I also posted the photo I took for Sally's memorial. I do not have any information for her.

Howard's and Eva's memorial is managed by another contributor. I notified them to make family connections. Below is what I sent them for Howard:

" Hello Wednesday,

Can you make family connections for Howard V. Cornell.

1. Wife: 29639721
2. Mother: 47371622

Also can you post the following articles for him on his memorial?

VETERAN POLICEMAN H. V. CORNELL DIES

Howard V. Cornell, veteran member of the police department and father of thirteen children, all girls, died this morning at his home, 3425 West Moncrieff Place. Cornell was 61 years old and had been a sufferer for several years from a chronic ailment that prevented him from working much of the time.

He became a member of the department April 1, 1891, and on several occasions distinguished himself by bravery. He walked some of the worst beats in the city, was the target for revolvers of the lawless men on several occasions and had numerous physical encounters with gangs, from which he always emerged victorious.

Arrangements for his funeral are being made by the Denver Police Protective association, of which he was a member. An escort of uniformed officers will accompany his body to his grave.

Cornell shot and killed Edward A. Baker, a printer, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1892, while Baker was robbing a resort at 1906 Market Street. The shooting followed a desperate battle between officer and Baker.

Abe Byers, a one-time well known Denver gambler, almost killed Cornell several years ago while resisting arrest.

Thank for your help in advance. I have another photo I took for Howard and Eva I took a while back. If you want me to add it just let me know.

Michael "

I do not have any information for Eva.

Thank you for the information and family connections for them. I have added it to their memorials.

I just discovered the map for Poughquag Cem in the Find-a-grave entry for that cemetery.

The map locates it well... does the map appear accurate to you?

Thanks,

Tom Cornell:
I believe that you posted "Find-a-grave" pictures of Sandra Wedge's grave in the Poughquag Cemetery.

I believe that I also have several relatives buried there. Can you tell me where that cemetery is located?

Thank you very much.

Your great-aunt Nellie Bullock
Hello. This is just to let you know that I posted photos of her crypt on her memorial. I hope that is okay with you. I have photographed a large portion of this mausoleum and have been adding the memorials and/or photos as time permits. You may want to change the order of the photos so that her lovely portrait photo is on the top.

Best Regards,
Bonnie
