You can't remove another's photo. The placer of the photographer is the only one, besides Findagrave. I made a note to peek, and once you place the obit in the bio, I was going to ask them to remove it, but you are most welcome to do so, too. Let me know?

RE: Josiah Priest
Findagrave regulations state obit photos should not be placed on memorials. "Please do NOT add newspaper article or obituary scans. The photo section is reserved for headstone/grave photos and possibly a portrait photo of the person, if that photo is owned by you."

RE: Concha Cortez Grave Photo
You're welcome. I'm glad you contacted me (I lost your contact information) because next to Concha's grave is another grave with the name Consuelo Cortez Montoya. Maybe also related? I created a new entry for her grave and posted grave photo: Find A Grave Memorial# 157625741.

I'm not a descendant - became interested in her when I found the Peter Cooper story in the Missouri Telegraph - that colorful article which I placed on her memorial.
She's in my strivings :-)

Hi Linda! I visit Mother Gibson from time to time (I am the person who wrote her article) & hold her in the highest esteem. I think of her when times are tough. 'Just thought I'd say hello.

Hi! Yes, you may use any of the photos you want. That's why I take them!

I am also descended from the Bellingers, through Johannes Bellinger (17 Nov 1664ó1725) and his wife Anna Maria Margaretha Kuhn (11 Aug 1661óbefore 1758), who came to New York as part of the Palatine German migration of 1709-1710. Then PhilipóPhilipóJohan JostóDavidóDavid (the succeeding generations), before that second David (1801-20 June 1875) moved with his wife Mary "Polly" Nellis (4 Feb 1803ó9 Apr 1876) up to the Watertown area. I have been trying to document as many graves of those (and related) families, in hopes of stumbling across connections to my family line. . . .

The most comprehensive resource on the Bellingers is Lyle Frederick Bellinger's Genealogy of the Mohawk Valley Bellingers and Allied Families. Henry Z. Jones did a couple of volumes of Palatine Families, which had some more recently discovered information. And Philip Otterness's Becoming German: The 1709 Palatine Migration to New York is a good, often witty, presentation of the difficult journey those ancestors made.

If you know of any Bellinger or related family graves that you would like photographed in the area, please let me know. I am planning a couple of additional stops there this summer.

Have a great day! Peace. Charles

Thank you for your kind words. One of the things I really enjoy is adding flowers to the Memorials that don't have any. I deleted the duplicate. Thank you. Marsha

RE: Elwin Slater headstone
Linda, I'm glad you did that because after I read about him I thought some information ought to be added. I also wondered if there isn't an organization that might put a marker on his grave site. Kay

RE: Elwin Slater headstone
Yes, I am surprised that there was no head stone either. When I got the plot card from the office it said that he was a policeman and he was shot, in very small writing. And Silas Marts was on the plot card also and said he was shot by Dr. Rice. So I did some checking and found more information about the incident. Sorry that I didn't find a head stone. Kay

Alkire-Dudgeon Cemetery
Latitude: 38.677
Longitude: -91.7514999

Cemetery is on the edge of a bluff on the old Stonner farm and accessed by permission. Hidden in a grove of trees, the burial ground overlooks the quarry to the west, the old coal-fired power plant to the north and it is accessed by private drive at the end of First Street in Chamois. If you find Chamois in Google Maps, you will see it is divided by railroad tracks east-west. Just south of the tracks is First Street. Follow it east to the end and see the road curve around the bluff covered by trees. It's among the trees atop the bluff. NOTE: GPS measurements recorded with pictures by iPhone 4.

RE: Thank you!
You're very welcome. My apologies for taking so long to provide the images ...there were no records of the cemetery's exact location. As it turned out, it's on the old Stonner farm, private property at the point of a bluff behind my house! No one has been up there for decades. It is very overgrown with irises and jonquils, yet peaceful and lovely. The view is breathtaking.

RE: Hi Cousin
Thanks for the info cousin. I have a few questions for you....
Did James A. Trotter die at an early age so that his son had to be raised by a step-parent?
Did you know your grand-parents or your great grand parents?
Did the Trotter families continue to live in Colorado?

Hello, I think we communicated some months (or years) ago? Anyway, Elizabeth Ehle and George Cheese were my Great Great Great Grandparents.
Here is how it goes for me:
George & Elizabeth (Ehle) Cheese
Louisa (Cheese) & William Diebold
Roswell Diebold & Emma (Prock)
Louise Nannie (Diebold) & Harper Gandy
Dorothy Maxine (Gandy) & Bud Guse
Deborah Lynn (Guse) & Michael Yanoska
Can you give me your line from Elizabeth(Ehle) Cheese down to you?
