I am related to Mary Lewis Medell. I don't know how I missed John McDougall's name when I submitted the Medell's. I have now entered his information.
I am related to Mary Lewis Medell thru William Medell and Mary Martin. William is a brother of Caroline Medell Gorbet and Thomas Henry Medell & Mary Ann, parents of Mary Lewis Medell.
You and I have corresponded in the past thru Ancestry.com. I'm glad to see that you are also still involved with the Medells.

Thank you Cindy. That is an excellent picture of Great Uncle Will. BTW, he is mentioned in a book that was published in 2008. The book is, "The History of Golden and it's GOLDEN CITY CEMETERY" by Arthur Lowther.

Hi Cindy - the photos have been uploaded. Turns out that Willie and Edward are buried in the same ground lot, but only Edward's name has been memorialized.

|Van Bender||Willie & Edward Alvis|
Hi Cindy -
I've found the location of Willie Alvis, then noticed you were also looking for the location of Edward Alvis. I checked the records and found a location in Metairie Cemetery for an Edward Alvis who was buried in March of 1928. Do you think this is the correct Edward Alvis? If so, should I post the photo of his grave on the same site as Willie Alvis or does Edward Alvis have his own page? I'll probably take a drive to the cemetery this weekend. I know the cemetery very well, so it should only take me a few minutes to find each location.

|Barbara Munson||Photo request at Metairie Cemetery|
I see you have a photo request at Metairie Cemetery. I'm out at Metairie often, but the cemetery is huge. There are currently 87 requests for photos there. If I present a list of 87 graves asking for locations, the lady will probably shoot me. If you can call the cemetery and get the location, I'll be happy to try to locate the grave and take a photo for you. The phone number of the cemetery office is 504-486-6331.
Be aware that Metairie has locations listed by who owns the cemetery plot. For example, they couldn't find my uncle who died in 2006 until I realized he was buried with his in-laws who died in the 1960s. When you call, have a list of other surnames for them to check under in case your person is buried with in-laws, etc.

|Angela Dalton Lucius||Benjamin Alvis Bethlehem MS|
Thats where the confusion lies, there are 3 listings for Bethlehem Cemetery and each one has memorials in it for the same cemetery, so he has two memorials, one under Benjamin Alvis and one under BC Alvis. I was not sure if they were the same or not so I did not retake the photo, the photo request posted by you is under the Benjamin Alvis Memorial, but the one under BC Alvis already has a photo on it, but your request is still active.

|Angela Dalton Lucius||Benjamin Alvis|
I saw your photo request for Benjamin Alvis at the Bethlehem Cemetery, there is a memorial under Bethlehem Methodist for a BC Alvis which has the same dates so I did not retake the photo, just thought I would let you know if you would like to contact the memorial holder with his full name and remove your previous request, there are 3 seperate links for Bethlehem Cemetery I wish they would merge them to avoid all the confusion LOL

|Alan Davis||RE: Medell|
I must apolologize as I missed the message you left me about the Medells. I am thankful for the pictures you added.
The Medells were married to my maternal ancestors. I have a funny story about Great Uncle Will. When he died, my great-grandpa, John Henry Bicknell and One of the Easleys (Charles I think) took his body to the Golden Cemetery to bury him. When they dug the hole, someone else had already been buried there. The cemetery records weren't too accurate back then. Grandpa and Mr. Easley had to take great uncle Will's body back to the Easley Orchard Home for the night and then returned to bury him again the next day!

Cindy, I looked for all three graves. Per the office, all are in Block 6 lot 83. Unfortunately, was not able to find stones for any of them.
If you need any more information, I will be glad to help you.

I actually feel very stupid because I have to say that I paid absolutely no attention to the grave beside her. I didn't even think about it until I cropped the other photo for you. If you can find a telephone number for the cemetery office online, you might try calling. They are very organized and even have a book outside the office to help you find graves that is available at any time of day. I wish they were all that way. My husband and I were doing an animal rescue transport that finished in Litchfield. I have photographed in this cemetery before after a rescue transport so I looked to see if there were any requests there. Happy I could help. The next time I am doing a transport in that area, I will take my camera along and can take that photo if it is her husband. Tonya

I added the dates and made note of the first name. In my more reflective moments, I imagine that Tippah County may have the best collection of cemetery data on Findagrave.
And I thank you,

|Jerry Owen||Ripley Cemetery|
Go inside the Ripley Cemetery gate and turn left, and begin to look. The first Alvis srones are among the first you will see.
Go back to the gate and follow the road straight into the middle of the cemetery. The other stones are near the road, on the left, in a grassy island between the black top and a rusty fence.
An early morning walker found the stones for me.

I am sorry to be so late getting back to you. I am the GGrandson of Willie Sion Franklin Tatum of Bethel Springs TN Willie Sion was a nephew of

Yes, all of the little ones are buried in a line...The first time I saw it I couldn't help but think how sad for them..but then I thought how absolutely devastating it was to their parents. It's a truly beautiful and touching plot for what seems to be a wonderful family.
