Green Powell Family
I am temporarily posting the death certificate on the memorial for N. Susannah Powell (Brackett). I did not create the memorial and some don't like death certificates posted on their memorials, so I will eventually delete it. The death certificate has her father listed as Green Powell, but mother is unknown.
Perhaps she was a granddaughter and the death certificate in wrong??
This is not a family that I have worked on a lot. My expertise is German research, so you will have to converse with someone more familiar with this family.
Since there seems to be a question, I removed the flower offering, and really don't have the time or desire to debate the issue.
Good Luck with your future research.

Green Powell Family
I'm sorry about the delay in responding to your inquiry concerning my husband's family. I have been out of town, and just got back in and I am trying to catch up.
My husband is descended from Green Powell's daughter, Nancy Susannah Powell (Brackett), Find A Grave memorial #52190808, Lincoln County, NC, who was married to Robert W. Brackett, memorial #52190824. My husband's grandmother was their daughter. She was Vinnie L. "Fina" Brackett (Neal). She died at the birth of her son John Henry Neal in 1914. John Henry Neal was raised by his aunt and uncle, Mary Ann Neal (Black) & Lawson Black and took the last name of Black.
I hope this helps.

Edgar Hamby Memorial

I had seen that someone else also has a memorial for Edgar, and they had more information, so I felt that I should delete mine. (Which I did).

Frederick Mikeal
Hi Barbara,

I do not know who the other person is you suggest I merge the memorial with. I could not find another Frederick Mikeal besides mine. I am happy to place Frederick in Maple Springs Cemetery, but do not know which county the cemetery is in. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Thank you for the input. I can't even imagine how I did that.

RE: re moving memorials from Millers Creek Methodist
Millers Creek United Methodist Cemetery/ aka: Friendship Cemetery is shown and mapped at 4705 Boone Trail, and most of the graves have been photographed. They haven't moved. If this cemetery now has a new name, then this should be corrected on *this* cemetery, with an aka added showing that it was the old or former Millers Creek United Methodist/ aka Friendship Cemetery.

I don't see the new Millers Creek United Methodist cemetery listed, but it should have its own entry with address and map. Any graves at that location which were mistakenly entered on Find a Grave at the 4705 Boone Trail location should then be moved into the new cemetery entry.

re moving memorials from Millers Creek Methodist
Hi Barbara,
My memorials are in the original cemetery entry. When someone duplicates a cemetery, memorials in the duplicate cemetery (#2328476) should be moved into the original cemetery entry (2134994), not the other way around. The description on the original entry does note that the cemetery is located behind what’s now Miller Methodist’s Wesley Outreach Center. I don’t think the cemetery’s name has changed in this case, but if it had, the change would be made to the original entry, not by creating a duplicate cemetery. Hope this helps.

I don't think I am kin the Jessica Davis Cameron. My parents are buried in the same cemetery, and I was just "flowering" those memorials that didn't have one.

McGee genealogy
You asked if I would share more information on the McGee's but what is on the memorials is all that I have. The McGee's and Ferguson's in that old cemetery are my ancestors, and you are connected to them also. Good to meet another cousin.

Record Keeper
William Poplin
Hi Barbara
I don't understand the message you left me about William Poplin's memorial. You indicated mine was a duplicate and I had entered it twice. Mine was posted 12/15/2014, and only once. The other one was posted 1/16/2015, which would make it a duplicate. If this is not what you meant, please clarify it for me.
Thank You

Michael Travis
Jacqueline Caron Farrar
I think that you might have inadvertently added a memorial for Jacqueline Caron Farrar at Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery in Claremont, NC. I have thoroughly searched that cemetery for her tombstone and can not find one. Is it possible that she was buried at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Statesville, Iredell County since she died in Statesville and her funeral services were conducted there? What do you think?

RE: Jenny Hamby
Thanks for responding to my message Barbara. Sometimes memorials are made in the wrong cemeteries and folks waste their time and effort looking for a tombstone that is not there. Hopefully you can find more information on Jenny Hamby.

Added by Sherlock on Sep 29, 2015 8:09 AM

Hamby burials
There are no Hamby's buried in the William Marley family cemetery. The only graves there are for William and Martha Marley, their son-in-law William Laws and their daughter Elizabeth Laws.

There was not a grave there for Jenny Hamby in 2005 and also no grave for American Hamby that someone else made a memorial for.

I found another son, Ronald Hampton, of Hampton and Neva Sheets at the grave site, so I uploaded the photo of his marker to his site. Thought you'd like to know.

Lucy Jones McGee
Thanks for making a memorial for Lucy Jones. She was the second wife of my ancestor Bluford McGee. I descend through Bluford and his first wife Mary Allison. My DNA connected me to some Allisons. I have visited this cemetery. There are lots of unmarked graves there. SAD
