Harold and Gladys Martz
Jeff, I saw you posted about Harold and Gladys and wondered when I saw your name if you might be related to my husband. His mother was Ocie Cox. We have been trying to find family members since we are now the oldest members of our family living. I have done a lot of family history and would love to share what I have. Please write when you can.
Thanks, Ann

RE: Cherryville Cemetery
I would like a copy if you would like to send it.
I was by the Swackhammer Cemetery the other day. I have been following the project in the papers and I also belong to the coalition that meets at the historical society along with a couple of your Swackhammer cohorts. I to have dozens of early ancestors buried in these little abandoned burial grounds in Hunterdon and Warren Counties.

Cherryville Cemetery

Thanks for the information for Elizabeth "Hoppock" Cramer. I've updated her memorial and added the additional info to our cemetery records.
My goal has been to find as much information on the people buried here in Cherryville and thanks to people like yourself we are getting more info than I had ever hoped for. It has been a worth while project. Instead of a bunch of names and dates we now know the history of Cherryville, Blacksmiths, Carriage makers, Inn keepers and store keepers.

Thanks again and Happy Holiday's,
Bill McCrea

I took a picture of the plot but can'y seem to find it since I downloaded the photo from my camera to my computer.
For you information, a headstone costs about $5oo installed.

You're welcome! It took me a bit of research to find out about such info, thanks to my ongoing project in building a virtual cemetery here for kids who never got a chance to grow up due to tragic circumstances.

Thank you
Thanks for adding obituaries to memorials for the Cudabac family. Your time and interest in doing this are appreciated.
Best regards,

RE: Wallkill Cemetery
yes, you've got it right. The Walkill cemetery is in what used to be Phillipsburg and is still (to this day) often referred to as Phillipsburg cemetery.

Gresh memorials
Many thanks, Jeff, for transferring the Gresh memorials. I've got quite a few linked to Jesse Gresh now, so things are looking good. Much appreciated. If you change your mind and want them transferred back, just give a shout. ~ Jay

RE: Cypress Hills
The problem with Cypress Hills is that very few lots (and graves) are in proper order. You can't find Lot 89, for instance, and expect 90 to be right next to it; there could be several lots between them, like 124, 147, etc. The fact that very few lots are actually marked anywhere also makes it difficult. Lot 99, with markers for the Dusenbury's, might exist but it could be totally out of place and Cypress Hills is so enormous to search through. I tried.

Jeff - according to records from the National Archives, his headstone should be there. Many times, as is often the case, so many stones fall or are flat stones and over time become covered over with grass. I've unearthed many...

Take a look at his memorial again, I've added a few things.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for the picture of my great-grandma's headstone! So nice to see that the flowers I left last month are still there. I really appreciate it!

Clara E Jones # 75965128
It is possible that you added her, and someone had already added her (# 67132633)?

If so, however, the person that added her before you has just the years (no month and day), and lists her death as 1946 rather than your date of 6 Apr 1936.

I haven't been able to locate her in the Soc Sec Death Index, so I am interested in knowing her actual year of death, at least. Did you get your dates from a record at the cemetery?

Thanks so much for ALL the work you've done!

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for the obituary for John Edward and also for telling me how to find the memorial. I have ask a number of people about using the memorial number to find a findagrave person and received no answer. You are a good teacher.
Thanks, Betty

RE: John Karleskint obit
Hi Jeff,
Thank you so much for taking the time to add the obituary information.
Could you tell me HOW to find a grave by using just the number? I can't find a John Karleskint with that number.
Thank you, Betty

RE: Memorial#30468929
Don't quite understand your location. Highland Memorial is a very large cemetery. I am sending you how some of of the sections are listed.
Sections: 1,2,3,4,9,9 north 10, 12, 12 north,22 19,18, 17, 20, 21, 23. Those are the numbered sections then you get into names; a few are Veteran Garden, Masonic Garden,Christus, Gospels just to name a few. Could he be in the Veteran Garden?? They go by Section number and Plot.

You're welcome Jeff. They were in an area where you can't drive your vehicle but only a short walk and they were easy to find. Glad to be able to fill your requests.

RE: Ocejo - Calvary Cemetery
Please update your request with this information so other volunteers won't pass it by. You may have to delete the original and post a new request. Since I take photos on my lunch hour I only do 1st Calvary because it is nearby but it doesn't include this section. I'm sure someone else will pick it up.
