Hi Ann
Thanks for the reply, I will be transcribing the information and then it will be sent to you as an edit, this will mean all you have to do is cut and paste the info as it appears and add it to the bio section of the memorial, I must admit I haven,t yet visited the cemetery my wife has lived in Pueblo most of her life and can remember driving along the railway line base prior to them laying the rails they had a small farm which was split by the railway near the Dairy along the river.
I hope to send you a couple of obits to see how you get on do let me know if you have any problems.
Thanks again
Vaughan

Swallows cemetery Pueblo
Hello Ann,
May I first thank you for your dedicated work with Find A Grave, I note that you have been involved in the creation of Swallows Cemetery in Pueblo County.
As part of my volunteer work at the special collections at Pueblo library I am looking into the Pueblo Pioneer cemetery records most of these interments were between 1870 and 1920's. A number of the Pioneer records were lost in the flood in 1921 and also in the fire in the Opera House, a large effort was made by the parks & recreation dept in the 1970's to try and fill in some f the missing burials.
I have access to the records from the 1970's records of headstone readings by the DAR, and some of the obituaries during this period, a number of the records just state the funeral court age travelled to the Cemetery not naming the Cemetery. I expect the work will keep me busy for some time. As the swallows was taking burials from the area during at least some of this time I am coming across obituaries and articles from the Chieftain. I wanted to see how you felt about entering obituaries to the memorials you created. It would be a great assistance to our research and as we are responsible

Thanks for your message. It was my pleasure! I was able to photograph about half of the De Smet Cemetery before winter moved in. The rest will have to wait until spring. I'm glad that your requests were in the part that was finished!

RE: Mrs. Minion
Thanks Ann. I'm not related. I just came across her when looking for another Minion, so I looked up the death record, to see if there was a first name on it. I'm glad that you found it.

There is a lot of good information on the family search site, but you need a free membership to view a lot of it. I never get bothered with e-mails or anything else from them, so it is safe to join.

RE: James Wayne Butler 37903118
Understood, Ann..so here us what I have.
David Wayne Butler was born in Dayton, Washington on Mar. 10, 1894, the son of James Wing Butler 1850-1925 from La Porte, Indiana and his second wife, Hattie Mari Wattrous Butler 1855-1939 who was born in Minnesota. They were married in about 1872. James Wayne's 1917 WW I Draft Registration card shows he was working in a coal mine in Alaska. By 1920, he was living back in Renton, King, Washington, working in a car factory, and was still single. By 1930, he was married to Reta Gould Harcourt who was born 13 Apr 1898 in Skagit, Washington. He was then working as a plumber. On Jul 10, 1949, he returned from British Columbia, perhaps from a job. He died 9 Jan 1969, in Coulee Dam, Okanogan, Washington at the age of 73. His wife, Reta, died 10 Mar 1983 in Walla Walla, Washington at the age of 84.
His Butler line is a very old one dating back to James Butler 1630-1681 who arrived in this county in 1653 and by 1659 had acquired land in Nashaway now Lancaster, Massachusetts. They seem to have had no children.

Hi Ann,
I see that you are maintaining the Find a Grave memorial of James Wayne Butler. He is a 2nd cousin, 3X removed, but if you have no closer relative, I am willing to put together a biography for him based on the facts on my family tree.
He certainly deserves more than a simple statement of birth and death.
Thank you

Ann,
Thank you so much for doing that. I really appreciate it! If it's alright, I will let you go ahead and list the information that you deem right. I haven't quite go into the swing of what I can do with or for findagrave, although it is one of my favorite sites for all the genealogy I do.
Again, thank you!

RE: Sadie Fletcher
Hi Ann. Rayburn is the correct maiden name for Sadie Fletcher. Delbert Sanders was the name of her first husband. I did not realize that other married names do not belong in her name. Thank you for clarifying.....it makes perfect sense!
