Kimberly McDaniel
Scott Family in Manakin Cemetery
John: I was dismayed to find that your research is different than mine. I based the info I sent on a self-published book I have by Charles S Scott that outlined the Scott family from Edward Scott, I "Of Manakintowne" to himself. He unraveled the many children of Edward Scott and his 3 wives.

My research is also based on my grandmother, who is buried in Manakin Cemetery; she used to spend her summers as a young child with her Aunt Elizabeth and family. Elizabeth was the younger sister of her own great-grandmother, Lucia Beverley Hackley Morrison. Her own father, Hackley Morrison, in turn spent HIS summers visiting Aunt Elizabeth.

Could you please elaborate on your information source?

Cousinly yours, Kimberly

Bertha Perry
Hello. Just found your site for Memorial # 23432350 for an Annie Bertha Perry.

Are you related? Mrs. Perry lived and died in Fredericksburg, VA. the dates of her birth and death appear to be accurate, but I'm wondering why she would have been buried in Hanover Co., VA instead of her hometown.

Thanks.

East End Cemetery
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORTS IN CLEANING AND RESTORING THIS RESTING PLACE.

My husband and I would surely help, it is our passion to keep these old forgotten cemeteries in our area from going back to nature. We live in Florida and wish you well. I'll keep checking to see how the progress goes along.

RE: Weir Neck Cemetery, Surry Co., VA
John,

Thanks for the quick reply.

One more question: The lower portion of that cemetery appears in Find A Grave as Davis Cemetery. Do you know if it is truly Davis Cemetery or just another part of Weir Neck Cemetery - perhaps the part where African-Americans were buried when cemeteries were still segregated?

Just trying to make our Find A Grave work as accurate as possible.

Thanks for your help.

Weir Neck Cemetery, Surry Co., VA
John,

A friend and I are researching Weir Neck Cemetery, Surry Co., VA. I noticed you have quite a number of memorials in that cemetery. There appear to be more tombstones in the cemetery than memorials in Find A Grave.

My question: Do you remember if you did 100% of the tombstones in Weir Neck Cemetery or did you, perhaps, take a representative sample of the existing tombstones and post them to Find A Grave to establish the cemetery? I also realize that it might be difficult to recall given the number of cemeteries you have visited.

If you didn't get them all my friend and I plan to go in and do a 100% photo documentation and "fill in the blanks."

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Samuel & Cappelle Archer errors
Hi
Thank you.
I will correct my info. The Capelle Archer info is from Chesterfield County births and his obit I believe.
And the Samuel birth is from the census of 1900 but we know how those go.

And sometimes I have seen tombstones with wrong dates but I will change them anyway.
