Rose Klix
RE: Nancy (Shreve) Bassett & Elmeda (Bassett) Wyant
Second try,
Hi, again,
I don't use Catherine as my first name anymore and I added my married name Klix. So, now I go by Rose Klix.
I am grateful for the photographs you sent me a few years ago. I believe they are all the ones you mention. It looks like your information is all the same as what I have. I'll double check when I have a bit more time. I think Joshua is buried in Wall, Pennington county, SD, but his headstone doesn't appear to be up on Find A Grave yet.
Thank you any way.

Nancy (Shreve) Bassett & Elmeda (Bassett) Wyant
Hi, Smokey,
I noticed you listed with a remembrance to William Bassett. Do you know where Nancy (Shreve) Bassett is buried? Also do you know where Elmeda (Bassett) Wyant and her husband Joshua E Wyant are buried?
Thank you.

In your notes on Thomas you quote the following
"Thomas Banbury was born at Launcells, Cornwall, England, emigrated to US in 1841.
1820-1850 Passenger and Immigration, New York:
Thos Banbury Arrival Date: Apr 18, 1843 Age: 48, Port of Arrival: New York, Port of Departure: Liverpool, Place of Origin: England Ship: Sheridan."

If he left England in 1841 and arrived in 1843 he must have been a slow swimmer!

The Thomas Banbury who came on the "Sheridan" was born 1790 and was married to Elizabeth Paynter and they settled in Ontario Canada and had six children.

The two Thomas's were cousins.

Curtis Huffman
Allen's in Forest Hill
The Allen family plot in Block 8 of Forest Hill Cemetery is one of the largest I've seen. From what I remember there were probably 30 plots. In reviewing my photos by looking at the order of the photos nd the deign of the stones, the following surnames may be associated with the Allens: Morris, Wiedenmann, Hedding, McClanahan. Cooper.

As family historian for the Banbury Family of Pasadena CA can you throw some light on the birth date of Jabez. On this site it is given as 1831 but records lodged with the Wesleyan Methodist Registry in London UK show he was baptised on the 25 Mar 1829 at Holsworthy Methodist Church in Devon UK and was born on 4 Mar 1829.

Thomas Banbury 1788-1873
You quote on his page the following:
Thos Banbury Arrival Date: Apr 18, 1843 Age: 48, Port of Arrival: New York, Port of Departure: Liverpool, Place of Origin: England Ship: Sheridan.
Yet you quote his date of birth as Dec. 20, 1788
a difference of 7 years!

Thomas M Banbury
You have the following information on his page:

Death Information: 29 Jun 1883, Iowa City, Johnson, IA. Cemetery: Oakland Cemetery, Location: Iowa City, Johnson, IA.

But you have his death shown as June 25th 1883.

Have you information that shows the Iowa Civil War Soldier Burial Records to be incorrect, if so could you supply the source and we will correct our records.

Kent Gebhard
Edna Mary Stevens Banbury
Edna was the dau. of Sarah Walrod, whose parents were Nicholas Walrod and Catherine Gregoire Walrod; her mother died shortly after birth and her step-mother was her mother's younger sister, Sarah.Except for her, Sarah's family- father, mother, half-brother, Gregoire grandparents and aunt- all perished in the terrible Comanche Iowa tornado of June 3, 1860. I see you have one of her sons with a middle name of Walrod, I wonder if the other son's Gregorie middle name might have been Gregoire. In the 1860 Clinton Co., Ia., census the family is enumerated as Gregwire..a likely close phonetic spelling.

Are you related??

Thomas Banbury Dec. 20, 1788
You still have the wrong informaion on this listing. his wife was not Jane Hoxie.

Added by worldwidebanbury on Jun 09, 2011 10:25 AM

Samuel Henry Banbury
He married Edna Mary Stevens on 12 Dec 1894 not 1900 as you have noted.

Photo Program
I have a program that I use to reduce the size of the photos if you would like a copy of it. It is an older program but still does the job.

I tried e-mailing a copy to the address you have listed and it came back returned.

Please let me know a good e-mail address for you and I will try again.
