When Bob Collins is the photographer, always click his pictures, he leaves lots of info. behind the pictures.

Looks like he forgot to leave a picture for these two. I told him abt it. I am sure he will add their pictures soon.

RE: John Martin
I have found an 1917 listing but not the 1925 one you mentioned. Where can I find it?

RE: John Martin
There is a lot of information about John Martin in "North of the Raritan Lotts." Do you want me to scan it and send it?

RE: John Martin
Old dear. I can never understand the point of that. I sure wish they believed in ghosts which would keep them away. There are other places around Martinsville where that has happened. Apprently someone stole the stones for paving at Bolmer--years ago but still.

I think that your John is the twin of James, sons of Joshua Martin who stated out in Middlesex County (where he served in the militia). He ended up in what is now Martinsville just after the Revolution. John's brother is the Martin for whom Martinsville was named.

These Martins are descended from the founder of Piscataway, NJ although the path is murky. They are also Mayflower descendents.

I am descended from their sister Mary and am trying to put together the family. I do think the 1850 Census tells the story since the gravestones are gone. I try to follow the record. It is always annoying where people on Ancestry etc. just repeat each other without anyone looking at an original record or applying common sense.

The OBIT should be too old to claim copyright.

Joseph Castner (Civil War Brig General)
Joseph Castner (Civil War Brig General)? Is this true or is it being confused with Joseph Compton Castner of WWI Fame?

RE: William Rowe & Mary Ann Ten Eyck
Yes, that was probably me asking about the Rowe's. I have Peter Rowe, William's brother, married to Jerusha but that is all I have on that family. I found some information on Ancestry but nothing on Peter. I'll have to find a copy of the "Rowes in America"
