Daniel/Perry graves

I added a photograph for Jerry Daniel buried at Southside Cemetery in Troy, NC. My husband knew Jerry Daniel though his work in the local school system. He died in a terrible automobile accident involving a log truck, a shock to everyone in the community.

We located the grave marker for Enid Perry, but no death dates were on it so I did not post any photos. We will check on this from time to time.

Also, we did not find the grave of the younger Raymond Perry, but my husband will get in touch with someone to find out where his grave is.

Best wishes, Dottie Wilkie

Oakwood Cemeteries in High Point.
Sharon, Oakwood Memorial Park & Oakwood Municiple Cemetery are two seperate Cemeteries but they are actually adjoining just to make it extra confusing.

I looked at some of the McCain Memorials and he has selected the wrong cemetery for some.

Generally what I found is that if they are at Oakwood Memorial Park it will say that specifically. Oakwood Memorial Park is a private owned cemetery. It was founded about 1929?

Oakwood Municiple Cemetery is owned and maintained by the city of High Point.

John Henry McCain & Ora are at Oakwood Memorial Park
George Elwood McCain Oakwood Memorial Park
Eula Mae Smith McCain Oakwood Memorial Park
Mary Ruth McCain Setliff & spouse Oakwood Memorial Park

Thelma Henry McCain may actually be ot Oakwood Municiple.

Good Luck getting these memorials moved and or corrected. I have had very limited success getting that contributor or the admins to fix these sort of problems. Its frustrating.

RE: Headstone Photos
I has been a pleasure getting these photos for you. This is something I've started not to long ago and I really enjoy doing them. I will go to a cemetery and photograph the whole thing and then get on Find a Grave to full fill as many requests as I can and when I'm done with that one I will go on to the next one. If I can be of service to you I will try my hardest. Sincerely Karen

Guilford Memorial Park
Sharon I have not found her yet. She must be in a section I have not done. You can try to get the plot location by calling Phone: (336) 299-5177. Most likely they will give it to you. If they ask be sure to state you are related.

Please let me know if you get it & also please add it to the memorial.

If you were to call the office, 210-432-2303, and get the location and post it on the memorial then a volunteer could try and locate the headstone for you.

Thelma Jenkins
Sharon - Thelma Jenkins' stone reads Ernestine Stout Jenkins, dates are correct to the memorial, and it is located in the correct place, so I assume that Thelma was a middle name? If this picture is wrong, let me know, and I'll remove it.

Sharon there were other Underwoods in the plot and I am adding their in addition to the ones you requested. They are:

Underwood, Emma Branscome 1888 1982
Underwood, Rev JC 1877 1938

Hope this is helpful! Also, have a call in to the cemetery groundskeeper for the requests in your email. Hope to get those tomorrow!

Photo requests

If your photo requests are in my area [Alamance County], you could send them to my e-mail address. I don't have to have the kudos for getting a photo, I just like to help people, so let me know.

Also, is Inez your close relative? You didn't ask for control of the memorial, but I thought I'd ask. She is not a relation of mine, I simply surveyed that part of the cemetery and if she's your family, I can transfer to you if you wish.

I will be happy to look. Remind me which cemetery has Lonnie Moose. Neither Blue Door nor Vanderburg UMC, Iredell Co., NC have the name Moose in them.

RE: Vestal Kivett
They are not listed in the cemetery book & w/their dates it is almost impossible to find them. The cemetery is 5 ac so if you had an idea what section
they might be in or who might be buried near them maybe I could find them.
My husband & I spent 10 hrs walking the cemetery & did not find - we took over 200 photos.
I have a copy of the cemetery book so I am able to look people & get an idea where they may be buried.
Anyway I hope this helps.

Georgia Girl
Alvis Harper
Mr. E. V. Knight, a well known "genealogist" of GA. Have no idea if he is still living. Is there some doubt Alvis Harper (1807-1857) was the s/o William Peterson (I) and Mary "Polly' (Dennis) Harper, Hancock Co., GA? If so, please let me know. I'm a direct descendant of the Harper/Hunt families, VA and GA. Do you have any idea if there is a direct connection between the Harper and Goodwin/Goodwyn families? Thank you for contacting me.
