I am the one who added a photo for James Ewing at Ewing, NE. I was wondering if you are a relative? He was who the town of Ewing was named after, one of the first three people to pioneer the area. I was thinking of adding some of this information to his biography if you're willing. Linda Waldo

Mathers in Mentor Cemetery
I've added a few photos for them.

There is one for Harry plus two other children who died and are named on Henrietta's stone.

Harry Dudley Mather
your welcome.

Sometimes it helps knowing where to look for the info.

You might try the cemetery board too. There might be more info, Laura is very nice and easy to talk too. There could be more info on the burial card.

Harry Mather Mentor cemetery
There was a 4 year old boy, son of W.D Mather who died in Jan of 1887 and was buried at the Mentor cemetery. Nothing I have found has his middle name but it's very possible that it was also Dudley. Perhaps the other Harry is a relative of the younger Harry. Maybe named after him.
I'm not related so I don't know.
I've posted a death notice for little Harry on the memorial.

Hooked On Family
RE: Charles J.
You are welcome!

I would go with your family records.

I have mistakes like misspellings: Micheal and Elizebath. Even my hubby's grandmother's date is wrong on her stone.

When you think about it, the stone info is just the word from a family member or from the mortuary who could have written it down wrong.

Seems like Taunt is correct...I think I saw it as someone else's last name or a middle name or something...

Sophia Mather Phelps #37604303
Hello Sharon,

Nice to "meet" you! I'm sorry it took me so long to get your message. I was having a bit of trouble getting off of a phone call. At any rate, please take a look at Sophia's memorial and make sure its appearance is satisfactory.

I posted about 200 or so memorials for that cemetery from a study done by the Westfield Historical Commmission. I'm amazed at what has become of their descendants! I would venture to say that the percentage of commemts about those memorials in particular is amazing compared to the amount of work I've done on my own and in collaboration with the genealogist at the Museum of Springfield History. Together we've posted nearly 30,000 memorials for cemeteries in this general area, all from original source records such as cemetery log books, death records, etc.

Glad to help!

I have linked Elizabeth with her father. Thank you. She was my 6th great-grandmother, through Lyman. I wished I could find the cemetery where Lyman is buried. Which child are you through?

Sharon, Thanks for getting this straightened out! If you want to manage him just send an edit with your #. I wish I could remember where I just saw a lone Stauffer gravestone, maybe it was Oliver John. Hopefully some day he will be found. Luella
