Canfield Cole, Livingston County
I saw your page for Canfield and how the lot is unmarked. He was married to a Mary Ann up until her death in 1889. Was the township able to give you the names of the people buried on this lot? I am just wondering if Mary A. could be one of those there. Thanks in advance!

RE: Raymond Bartlett
Sorry I am a little slow at fixing this, but I changed per your suggestion, but looking at the Cornish History book it says that Raymond Osmer was the son of Lyman and his second wife Jennie...But in the second Cornish History book it confirms what you have said, so hopefully I have it correct now....

RE: Bartlett
Hi back regarding Clayton Bartlett. Do think I have something wrong...Trying to figure it out, but don't think the Lyman that I have Clayton and Raymond and wife, Clara should be connected to this Lyman...
But don't find a Lyman Barlett with correct birth and death date that meet the parents of Clayton and Raymond yet on F.A.g. THe Cornish History book has it that Clayton, b-1876, d-? is the son of Lyman, b-1854 and died 1893. His first wife was Clara Dunsmoor and they were the mother of Clayton. He married second to Jennie Dunsmoor and they had a child Ryamond Osmer, b-1899...Just got home and will look in someother books to see if I can figure it this out...Thanks for the compliment and hopefully I figure this out. Sometimes gets really complicated...According to History book, Clayton and Raymond were 1/2 brothers...

Putting info into the token may work while the token is visible, but as new tokens are added, yours will be pushed away from the memorial page. All the best, J

Token messages
FYI - According to the FAQs, genealogy info isn't allowed within token messages. As they are found, they may be reported and therefore deleted. Be sure to submit an SAC with genealogy info instead for each memorial. All the best, J

Glad to oblige. Just sorry the older stone was suffering that "marble melt" when it weathers badly.

Obituary Register of Deeds Office Gove, KS

C.H. Cole, one of the oldest residents of Gove county, died at his home here Saturday evening, August 17th. Death came from chronic Bright's disease, after a lingering illness.

Chester, as everyone knew him, was a county character. As a schoolman--instructor and for a number of years county superintendent--he acquired a large acquaintance.

The son of Lewis and Phoebe Sprague Cole, Chester was born in Milford, Defiance county, Ohio, April 17, 1857, and departed this life on the date above mentioned at 8:10 p.m., aged 72 years and 4 months. Chester came to Kansas in 1884, landing at McPherson. In the spring of 1886 he settled in Gove county, acquiring a "claim" on the Smoky River near Jerome and has been in Gove county ever since. At one time he was postmaster at Jerome. On April 26, 1891, Chester was united in marriage to Margaret L. Fellers at Jerome, Kans. To this union were born 3 children, 2 daughters and one son, the elder daughter dying in infancy. He leaves to mourn his loss, the wife, Margaret, Elsia and Arthur Ruch of Jerome and Harold and Ruby Cole and little daughter Margaret, also of Jerome, two brothers -- L.S. Cole of Grand Rapids, Mich. and L. E. Cole of Hicksville, O. besides other relatives and friends. His father, mother, six brothers, only sister and his baby daughter preceded him to the Great Beyond and are waiting to welcome him home.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Roy Crist at the home at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon and interment was immediately made in the Gove cemetery. A mixed quartet, consisting of Mrs. George Mendenhall, Mrs. C.A. Clark, George Mendedhall and Theo. Trimmer sang three numbers. Pall bearers were former pupils of C.H. Cole.

RE: Harrison Cole
Hi! I hope to get over there in the next couple of days, after it dries up a bit (it rained today).

Read the biography that you wrote on him and his family, seems like quite a bit of legwork you've done. It's always fun to do the requests that give a little background on person. So many interesting stories out there.

Do you know where his daughter, wife, etc are buried?

Hi Bill, Is there any way you can transfer the Augustus Cole Graham stone over to Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto, Wisconsin? I took the photo and am ashamed to say I put it in the wrong cemetery!

A lot of the Van Loans worked on boats on the river, it seems. I have all my geneological stuff on, if you're interested.

Cole Headstones in Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon
I recently filled your request for Elijah Cole's headstone photo. I added his photo, and a photo for his mother's memorial, but also have photos for an Edwin A (1 wk old, son of E.M. and E. Cole), also an Art and Nonie Cole. Rowana shared a stone with her husband, so that picture is also available. If you would like to add their memorials, I will gladly attach my photos to them. I hope you are satisfied with the quality of the photos, it was getting late by the time we went through Audubon. If not, I will gladly return sometime and replace them with better (hopefully) pictures. Please let me know!

Foster Cole

I just spent about three hours searching through Wooster cemetery here in Danbury for your request. I found a few Coles but they don't match the names or dates you have. Is there any way you could contact the cemetery and find out what section he is in? The cemetery is HUGE, but the sections are marked very well. It is such a beautiful cemetery, and I enjoyed being there. I'm sorry I couldn't find what you were looking for.
