I transferred her record to you just now. Sorry it took so long I have been busy.

Hi, thanks for the information I will be sure to update it. I am not related to her but I see you are her cousin. Would you like the record transferred to you? I am also sorry for your loss.

A fellow contributor mentioned you might like to manage any Lutge memorials from Tulocay Cemetery - glad to know it will be in good hands!

According to the memorial, you already sent in updated info. The process may take a few days, so see what happens.

Per the records I've found on Ancestry.com, Charles the father was born in about 1824 in Germany. His son was born on 18 Oct 1862 in Oregon and died 20 Oct 1949 in Alameda County, California.

I'm glad that through both of our efforts, we could get the right death date and hopefully, the correct cemetery.
By the way, the California Death Index shows that he died in Contra Costa county.

I'll let you know if I come across any additional info. Sometimes two heads are better than one.
Thanks for clarifying the multiple Lamberts.

|Ann||Lambert Van Laak|
I did some research on Ancestry.com and found a California death entry for Lambert Van Laak on June 20, 1982 in Contra Costa county, California.
There is a Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Antioch, Contra Costa, California.
Could your Lambert be interred in Contra Costa and not San Mateo? Do you have a death certificate or obit that shows the death year as 1967?
I'm just passing on some information that I found that might be helpful.

|Gerry Jean||RE: Thank you|
Al, thx for setting me straight on Rose's photo! Last evening when I was looking for that photo, her memorial page did not show that she had a photo uploaded. I was corresponding with another Find A Grave at the same time & she insisted that I hadn't uploaded her photo. This morning she sent me a note saying that it was there all along ... just something erratic going on with photos attached to memorial pages.
The biggest cause of headaches with the H.C. data base is misspelling or "missing" apostrophes (ONeill instead of O'Neill) or VanLaak instead of Van Laak. Oh, well ... they're all challenges, right?!!
Glad to help ... anytime.

Al, I know I'm fading fast but I don't recall uploading a photo of Rose Van Laak .... Her memorial page doesn't have any photo attached. Could you point me to the photo you're referring to?

|Gerry Jean||Lambert Van Laak|
I couldn't claim your request for Lambert right now because I'm already at the Find A Grave-imposed limit of 21 .... however, I searched the Holy Cross data base (sfgenealogy.com) and could not find a record of his burial there. I tried: "Van Laak", "Vanlaak", even "Lambert" in the first name only and "1967" as the death year .... no luck. Maybe you can try other variations of the search in sfgenealogy.com.

|MarLa||RE: Bates confusion|
Yes, I am a bit confused as well, but Susan Roach (another Bates descendant) claims there is documentation of an alternate name she is known under. Could you check out Timothy's obit & you'll see what she added in reference to his wife, Sarah.
I know photos can be tricky to make out, but I was traced it with my hand and I'm confident in what I entered on the photo caption.
Let's figure this out, eh?

It's nice to meet you. Thank you for the speedy response and for the time you have taken to do all this work.
I will be picking up at SFO next week so I will get that information and a photo then.
In the early years, we interacted often with the children of Bill and Kathy VanLaak. Please tell them all hello from me.

I'm wondering if you can make a correction. My grandfather, William Mancuso, son of Domenico L. Mancuso, is buried at Olivet in Colma rather than Woodlawn. I can take a picture of the marker if you wish.

There are Davis' on both mine & my husband's side. On his side there is a Rhoda Davis who was born in Tennessee around 1815. I haven't been able to find out much more about her except she was still living when as of 1880. Her son settled in Missouri. On my side the Davis' were immigrants from Poland & France who settled in Louisiana in the mid 1800's.
Did your Davis family settle in Cass County, Nebraska? As far as I know none of my Davis family (or my husbands) ever lived in Nebraska.

|phillipsp||RE: Cynthia Collins|
You're welcome. I'm not sure if you read the caption underneath the picture, but there is a large pine tree growing where Cynthia's grave is. She does not have a visible marker. It's possible she never had one, or the tree destroyed it at some point in time. I checked all the other sides of John's marker and nothing else was inscribed. Cemetery records indicate that graves 3-5 in row 29 (next to John & Cynthia) as well as graves 1-10 in row 30 (located behind them) were bought and/or are occupied by the Collins family. I'll try to get a better picture of the entire Collins plot area.
I did check the area where Charles is supposed to be buried and didn't find a marker for him either. His grave is a good distance away from his parents, but there are other Collins buried there. I'll check again the next time I go. Without knowing Henry's location (which isn't listed in the records), I probably won't be able to find him, unless I stumble across it. Sorry I wasn't able to help more.
