My family's 1st members to come to USA
I would like to know if you would be willing to transfer my ggg grandparents Wilhelm H. Heider #35020292 and his wife Augusta Sandfudst Heider Koch #35020236 over to me. It would mean a lot!

I also noticed that you have the incorrect birthdate entered in for Wilhelm.

Thanks!

Cari

Hi there..so glad to see you are involved in saving a cemetery. It is so sad that these people are just forgotten..but with help from many like you they will be respected and remembered. And the fact that you take your kids with you is wonderful. They will appreciate knowing that because of these people we are here now. Sincerely, Wendy

Butlers in Hatfield cemetery
Kristy,
Thank you for your work on the Hatfield cemetery. I visited it this summer and was appalled that the city could let it fall into such disrepair. A lot of the Butler stones are down and half buried, etc. Who do I write to in the city government.

I was hoping that you were related to the Butlers but I guess not according to your bio.

My 2nd great-grandmother, Sarah, is related to this bunch, but I haven't figured out just how yet.

Isaiah Coleman 17182978
Hello Kristy
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For the transfer of Isaiah Coleman 17182978 to our care. He was the last child I had to link to link to his parents. Thanks to you I now have all nine children linked.
We appreciate the time you took to make his memorial and photograph his great old Civil War stone.
Find A Grave is a wonderful site but only because of people like you.
Thank you.

Would you transfer Jesse & Lillie May to me please? They are my paternal grandfather's parents, and I would like to be able to update information as needed. I do live in Southeast Portland close to Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetary and visit their graves.

Henry J Miller
You are the contact person for Find A Grave Memorial #3260322 Henry J Miller.. His full name is Henry John Miller.. His late wife is Mary C Alter Miller.. His DOB is October 8, 1862.. I can't find a Find A Grave for Mary C but her siblings, parents and other family members are represented in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne and on Find A Grave under different contacts.. I am very distantly related and found them by accident.

The information left my Aunt Debbie (Debbie Fortriede) is incorrect. There is a book at the Allen County Public Library titled "Louis Fortriede Shoes" which was made around 1973-1975 which has information about my Great-Great Grandfather Louis, his sons, and my Great-Aunt Lorena, who was interviewed for the book. She stated that her Grandfather (my Great-Great Grandfather) did fight in the Union Army. It also has other information about his life. However, the book cannot be checked out, since it is in storage. If you have any further questions, please contact me at TFORTRIEDE@YAHOO.COM

Elizabeth Golden
we've been trying to track down the death of my husband's great, great grandmother, Diana Elizabeth South Day Golden. she married Ezra Day, and when he was lynched during the Civil War, she returned home to Wisconsin and married William Benjamin Golden. Diana Elizabeth was born abt 1838 in Onendaga Co., New York, her parents were Richard South and Elizabeth Bossingham of Lincolnshire, England. we know from other records that by February of 1883, Diana was no longer in William's life.
is this Elizabeth you photo'd in Ft. Wayne, Indiana my husband's Diana Elizabeth? she went by either name...
thank you for your time.

I tried finding Jerald Amsden, with no luck. I tried poking around the other Amsden grave site with an ice pick but could find nothing that way either. Please be aware that several trees have fallen and knocked down some very large markers, also it appears that there has been quite a lot of vandalism.

Hello, Thank you so much for the work you do! May I use the photo for this grave in my family's ancestry documents? Is it ok if it ends up on Ancestry.com at some point? Thank you!

Louisa Buck (w/o Charles W Buck)
I want to thank you for taking a picture of this stone. I am doing research for my husband's family, and I am fairly certain that this is the stone for his great-great-grandmother Louisa (Durfee) Buck who died in 1881 (her husband was Charles W Buck).

Can you tell me, however, is Charles buried there as well? I see his name on the photo, but I can't tell if it's just that they are identifying who she was wife of...or if he is buried along side her. I appreciate any clarification you can provide.

Thank you again!

Please, be aware that the info. for Louis' birthdate is incorrect and that he never served in the Civil War. This was a misunderstanding that was passed down through a family member. These mistakes have not been corrected in the Lindenwood cemetery book. Louis' birthdate is 1843. If you have any questions, please contact me at txstampinbelles@sbcglobal.net
Thank you,
Debbie Fortriede

Thank you for putting in Louis Fortriede. He is a vital member of Fort Wayne history and is often forgotten. He is in fact my great-great grandfather and I can tell you a little more about him. When he came to America in 1861, he came through Louisiana. When he saw African Americans in chains, he couldn't fathom the idea of slavery and moved up North. He decided to fight for the Union Army and also made shoes for them. When World War One broke out, he and my great-grandfather and great-uncles not only made shoes for the soldiers, but they also made shoes for the soldier's dogs, so the dogs wouldn't cut their paws on anything sharp. There is a display in the Fort Wayne Museum Art of some of the items he made. The Toegnes Shoe store today are also 3rd cousins twice removed.
