William G. McDonald
Your entry for William G. McDonald, 1860-1862, in Prospect Cemetery, Pierce Co, NE, indicates that the grave may be the child of James & Emeline McDonald. I've been confused about that for a long time. The problem I'm having is that James & Emeline, arrived in Nebraska in 1882. I'm having a hard time thinking they would dig up this little boy's coffin from Chatham Hill and haul it to Nebraska. James' brother William also had a son with the name William G. McDonald , 1861-1900. He's in Prospect Cemetery.

Regards, MaryP

William Giltner Winchell, #67051012
The memorial for William reflects he died in 1856; however, he is reflected on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 Noble Twp., Rush Co. census records. Son George, Camillas, daughter Otelia, et al. are reflected on the 1860 & 1870 census. Melissa (born in 1861) is reflected on the 1870 census. Wife, Sarah (Stevens) Winchell, who died in 1868 is reflected on the 1860 census, and William is listed as a widower on the 1870 & 1880 census. Thomas Munford is listed on both 1870 and 1880.

Can you furnish where the memorial death date came from? Thanks.

According to the following record, John Sanders parents were Thomas Sanders and America Maxedon.
I think the link to parents, William Sanders & Phoebe McDaniel could be in error.

My husband and I walked the entire cemetery and couldn't find it, but there are many, overgrown or covered with green fungi and are unreadable. I am trying to contact the cemetery to check if they have any records of him being buried there. Sincerely, Judy

Letting you know this cemetery is actually in Jefferson County's side of Walnut Hill, IL. The north side of Walnut Hill Rd. is in Marion County, and the south side of Walnut Hill Rd is in Jefferson County, IL (that's the dividing line between the two counties). Someone very rudley pointed this out to me several years ago and now I see others thought it was in Marion County, also. If you go to Little Grove Cemetery Jefferson County, IL you will find many more burials listed there in case your are searching for anyone else. Enjoy your searching.

Kerry Steiner
Memorial #97426778
Hello,

I'm not sure if you created this memorial based on personal knowledge or cemetery records, but I believe the place of birth for Elizabeth is incorrect, as well as her maiden and possibly her last name. According to this historical record, she was born Elizabeth Cartmill in Ireland and came to America, eventually settling in Dubois County. Her first husband died (Green); she may have remarried an Armstrong, I'm not sure about that part.

Thanks for all of the memorials you've added, your contributions are appreciated!

Cathy
Samuel Rathbun #87818058
Could you please make a couple of additions to Samuel Rathbun's memorial #87818058:

Samuel's parents were:
Porter Rathbun #84217880 & Melissa Hulse
He was born in Adams co, IL.
He died while serving in the Spanish American War.
The photo of his headstone shows his death date as Sep 19 not Sep 9 - is there another source that shows Sep 9?

THANK YOU

We had a terrible winter storm here last night. I usually photograph on weekends but the snow and ice prevented me from going out today. We've got more nasty weather forecast for this evening and tomorrow. Hopefully things will be better by next weekend and I'll be able to get your photo.

Lucinda Kent Zumwalt
Hi, Michele,
You made a memorial for Lucinda (# 65476889). Some who lives nearby walked Taylor Cemetery and said that there is no tombstone there for Lucinda. May I ask how you found out she was buried there?

It makes me sad to learn when someone was buried without a tombstone. It also makes genealogy harder.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Della Hammond
I walked the entire cemetery today. I could not find Della anywhere. I also checked the Eaton County database and they don't show her on their index. She may be there but I can't find her. Do you have a death certificate of her? That would tell what cemetery she is in.
