RE: Lydia Burton Johnson
Lydia was a friend of my family on my Mother's side. I spent summers in Harrington Delaware and knew Lydia and her sisters. My Mothers best friend was Hazel Johnson. Thanks for the offer though. Ray

Your call. I'll be looking at source documents again this week. Will look for this one. Probably transcription errors discerning Ts,Ls,Ss. I was sure you didn't connect me with the other groups.

RE: Tamson Cuff
Yes, her death record is online thru under Lamson Cuff. Source Information New Jersey, Deaths and Burials Index, 1798-1971 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Operations, Inc., 2011.

Original data:

"New Jersey Deaths and Burials, 17201971." Index. FamilySearch, Salt Lake City, Utah, 2009, 2010. Index entries derived from digital copies of original and compiled records.

It's very common to find headstones that don't match actual records. After researching at local historical societies and area cemeteries, I find it to be quite common. I've documented many branches of my family into the 1600 & 1700s. Thompson, Cuff, Wilson, Willett, Pierce, etc. Some of the earliest. mlatree on Ancestry and Loretta on Mitsawokett.

RE: Tamson Cuff
Her death record is erroneously recorded as Lamson Cuff (nee Gould) b. abt 1809 Bridgeton, daughter of Benjamin & Hannah Gould. DOD 8 Jun 1877. White. Single. I believe the "single" status is incorrect as both her maiden and married names are shown. Actually, I have her married twice: #1 William Cox (Steward's "Indian half'breed") and #2 Reuben Cuff, Jr. Receptive to contrary thoughts.

RE: Catherine Dishon's mother
It is odd by our culture, but I figured out many years ago that America Adams Dishon was basically a child bride. The census records indicate that her husband Louis was about 30 years older than her. She had Catherine when she was about 12 or 13. Wiley was the only family member who spelled his name DeShon. Everyone else spelled it Dishon. America lived with Wiley's family up until her death. They were all just poor uneducated farmers. She could not read or write. She is my GG Grandmother. This is her grave.

RE: Catherine Dishon's mother
Yes, I believe this is the correct America Dishon. Follow her through the census records. She was very young when she married Louis Dishon and had her first child. She was living in Garrard County KY in the last census I can find her alive. Her son Wiley spelled his name Deshon and he lived in Garrard County. The big clue is....she is buried in the same cemetery as her son-in-law Thomas Holtzclaw. This is daughter Eliza's husband. He and America died a few years apart. There are only 29 graves in the cemetery. It is just up the road from where the family lived. I feel confident that it is her.

RE: Dorothy E. Webster & Eleanor B. Webster

You did say in the note that the dates were incorrect. You put on the photo request to confirm before sending the correction off to edit. I had to check on my phone to be sure I had right Webster.

You're welcome,

RE: Calvin S. Accoo
The birth date I submitted is from Calvin's birth record. Apparently, the family simply went with a year (perhaps best info they had). Quite common approach.

RE: Calvin S. Accoo
Hi John,
I have a number of photos from Evergreen Cemetery which I will post as time permits. I was able to post the shared photo to George Accoo and update his birth info. However, after I posted Calvin's actual birth date, I was unable to get to the link to post the photo. Didn't have time to figure it out at the time, but thought I'd get back to it today. Posting to this site is new to me. Want to get it correct.

RE: Jonathan Barker headstone
Hi John
Thank you for your consideration on Jonathon barker. you are correct we did manage to find the need documents to get our applicant into the society. But as the registrar for a chapter you know we never have enough data to just close the application document file. I will send these photos on to Louisville to be added to that file and perhaps someone down the line will apply to the SAR for membership and this addition to the file may make the difference to his acceptance.
Thanks again John and if we ever can be of assistance please do not hesitate to call upon us

Re: photo request claim
I saw the photo request as claimed but on the findagrave app, there's no way to tell how long it's been sitting there. Please reconsider claiming photo requests so far in advance so others may be able to fulfill requests in a more timely manner. The more important issue to me is that pics are uploaded promptly, not that "I claimed it first!"

thanks for the edit. Congrats on your finishing your degree and finding your great great grandfather! AND getting his marker placed, that must have taken some time...bureaucracy and all. What a story. Oh and interesting hobby, clocks. They must be beautiful.

Marjorie was not an immediate family member. I am researching her husbands grandmother Colville. I don't need a transfer. Thank you for the consideration.
