|David Reese||RE: Capt Randall F. Blewett|
He is buried in Section N, No. 22, in the Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA.
Capt. Blewett's Obituary:
Richmond Daily Dispatch
July 2, 1862
Died, on the 30th ult., at the residence of Dr. H. Loften, of wounds received in the battle of the 28th ult., Captain Randle Blewett, of Company C. Second Battalion Mississippi Volunteers, aged 32 years.
In the opening of the war he volunteered his services as a private, and was stationed at Pensacola, Florida. For his gallantry at that point he was promoted to an Aide to Gen. Bragg. Being released, by his request, from this position, he returned home and raised his present company. In every engagement he acquitted himself with honor. He fell mortally wounded while leading his company in a charge. Thus has passed from our midst a truce and brave soldier. All the medical aid possible was administered for his relief, kind friends stood by his side day and night, administering to his every want; but the messenger of death claimed him as his victim. By his death his father has lost a dutiful son, his company a brave and noble Captain. Rest, noble leader, your last battle is fought; sleep on in peace. The few of us who are left will still prove ourselves worthy the name of "Blewetts." Requiescut in pace.
J. H. Preston,
C. S. Co. C, 2d Miss. Battalion.

Just went to Belle Glade. He is NOT there. The caretaker advised he's been trying to contact Find A Grave to have the info removed. He's been getting numerous calls. Gary Carter was cremated and ashes given to family. He has no connection to Belle Glade area. The funeral was in Palm Beach Gardens where he resided. Please edit the burial information

Dan, I am a Hammersley by birth, I am also a family researcher - would you consider transferring management of all the Hamersley's in Trinity to me? I have extensive data to add for them, and it would be easier to do so directly from my pc than to send to have added. Thank you so much!!

I linked Marianna (Lovell) Hale as a daughter of James. This relationship does not conform to published genealogies, but it is consistant with the NY SAR application of her son, James Webster Hale.
