Jesse Russell
Robert Russell
I see where it is stated that Robert Russell b. Apr 24, 1753 and d. 28 Jan 1827 is buried at Ebenezer Baptist. I was recently there and could not find his grave site. Could someone help direct me to the location within the cemetery to his grave. I live approx. 8 miles west of there in Clarke Co. Va. I would be happy to take photos of any marker for anyone if they have a general idea as to where their ancestor may be buried. I know that an old marker with S.R. on it is claimed to be the grave site of Samuel Russell and several grave sites away is a marker for Mahlon Russell.
I feel 80% certain that our family comes from either the Samuel Russell line or the James Joseph Russell line. It is also possible that these two lines are from the same family.
I am curious about this Robert Russell as I was born on April 24, 1949. My grandfather was born April 24, 1875. Now I see another Russell who died only 48 years before my grandfather's birth also born on April 24. Any help is appreciated.

Donna Ward
Baby James Hoag
There are two babies graves in Walnut Grove Cemetery, both simply say Baby James Hoag 1923. In Walnut Cemetery is the grave of James William Hoag, Jr., f. Aug. 28, 1923 who died at birth.

He is the son of James William Hoag, Sr. & Bernice Van Gundy who are buried in the Brown Cemetery in Bryan, Williams Co., Ohio.

The only way we can tell which stone is the James William Hoag that I am referring is that his father lost a lot of brothers and sisters as babies that are buried in the Walnut Cemetery.
These babies graves have the names: Mervin Hoag, Cora Hoag & DeForest Hoag. The baby Hoag that is buried next to these other graves would be James William Hoag, Jr. Best wishes. Donna

re your FAG memorial 55348436
Hello Mary Ann Bingham.
Re your memorial # 55348436 for Peter Staup. It seems to be a duplicate (almost) except for the birth date, of the Maryland Find A Grave index of memorial no Find A Grave # 66575059, managed by Sally Atkinson, which has a photo of his Grave Marker... Inscription: Peter Staup, died Dec. 6, 1893, aged 73 yrs, 2 mons, 9 dys. "A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled." ...
Going by the inscription he would have been born on 27 September 1820.
Hope somehow this Duplicate record problem can be rectified.
Regards Barb Gillespie

RE: James Wells at Bloomrose
Mary Anne, My James Wells was born 17 Oct 1829 and died 1 Nov 1892. According to undertaker on death certificate he is buried at Edenton Cemetery. No stone. Easter is buried at Bloomrose, no stone. In 1850 census, Marion, Clinton Co., Ohio he is living with Thomas and Sophronia Sheppard his sister. He is 22 yrs. In 1870 he is living with Easter and family.and your info on 1870 is correct. His son Charles married (Martin VB Robbins and Ruth Bingaman Robbins dau) Estella Jane Robbins. That is my Bingamin connection. Ruth was dau of Solomon Bingaman who is also buried at Bloomrose.
As for the other James Wells, I am not sure how he is related to my Wells family but it gives me something to find out. We don't know James' parents. My male cousin did DNA but missing two generations of family between James and his grgrgrandfather. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Rita

I'm sorry MaryAnne but, the Lindseys (Lindsays)are part of my family lineage and I would prefer their memorials stay with me. Please feel free to send any information you would like to have added to them. One day soon I hope to go to add my own photos of gravesite locations and or headstones to the memorials. Thank you

I'm sorry. I am researching the Lindsey family because that is my great-grandmothers family and I prefer that those memorials remain in my care. You may add information to them if you like or I can add it also. Thank you.

Grave of Terence Kinsman
Hi Maryanne,
I have some corrected info on Terence Kinsman's grave which you have listed as Pennsylvania.
He died in Brentwood, Ca. in 2003, and is buried in Culvers City , Caifornia at Holy Cross Cemetery. Terence is spelled with one 'r'.
Terry was my 1st cousin.
I have my Stuberg/Hoaas tree online at if you are interested. I have added quite a few photos to it.
If there is any information you would like or have to share with me, please contact me. I had put all this info in storage for a number of years, and am just getting at it again.

Thought you might be related to the Foslien family from Douglas county, Minnesota. Would like more information and/or photos of Emma Larson (1874-1905) who married Alfred Foslein (1875-1959). She was his first wife, but he had three wives total and many kids by each one. My great grandmother was Augusta Larson, sister of Emma Larson. Augusta married Gothard Olson and they left Minnesota to homestead in North Dakota with Augusta's sister Helene (Larson) Walstad and husband Martin Walstad. Do you have any info or photos that you could share of Emma Larson?

RE: Usher McGoldrick
That is the area shot where other markers from that time are at. No personal marker was found with his name on it. There are several markers beyond reading anymore though. Old section right next to the church. The burial is still unknown though. I need to remember the name again. My dad and I have been there twice now.

RE: Carr-Ebenezer Cemetery
Thank you for replying to my question about the Wynns at Carr-Ebenezer Cemetery in Muskingham, Ohio. I would like to talk a little more with you, but am very tied up at the moment taking care of elderly parents. They have just moved in with my husband and me. So much change is causing more confusion. I'd like to correspond directly with you, but not for a few weeks.

Do you live near Zanesville? I'm curious as to why there aren't any pictures of the oldest burials. If no headstones, what is the source of their data?

Thanks every so much,

Ms. Marty Hiatt, CG

get together pike family info
Yes I would like to get together for trading of info. Please let me know how to make arrangements.
Also on the Zella Pike site you have Mabel Pike with the same death as Lucius. Her death was June 29,1985.West Unity, Ohio. They were married November 12,1918. Some show her name spelled Mable, but on her marriage cert. and grave stone and obit it is spelled "Mabel". Sometime I plan seeing the records dept. and finding out what it says on her birth cert.
