Graving With Jenn
RE: Alva O Foskett
Thanks for the compliment :) Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! No enhancements, it was just a very good day for photographs I think.

Thanks again!

33rd Iowa Infantry
Hi and thanks for so many Civil War memorials. I have a virtual cem for Co E, 33rd Iowa with about 45 souls. My 2G Grandfather Benj Cruzen was the last surviving member of Co. E. Wounded Jenkins Ferry POW Tyler Texas. Please use any of my collection for yours of the 33rd. Thanks to you , I found a couple that were missing from my Co E final muster. I would like to find Eugene Nolan, Co E 33rd. I have an original letter he sent home to my 3G Grandfather from the Helena encampment on Jan 20, 1863.

West Hanson Cemetery
A helpful non Find A Grave member photographed some of the tombstones on West Hanson Cemetery that I was seeking. So I created the posting of West Cemetery, Groton, Brown County, SD. It still lacks a picture identifying the cemetery or its exact location. So if your cousin visits, that would be appreciated. They say cemetery records for West Hanson are at St. Paul's in Ferney.

Hello Christy,
I tried to reply to your message via email but it was returned to me. I really do not know much abt. the family. What was your question, maybe I can point you in the right direction. Sandy

James White
Hello Cristy,
I am wondering if you are a relative of James and Mary White. James and my grandma were first cousins. I grew up with the family going to Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, but things happened that separated us when I was young. Jimmy was my Sunday School teacher at one point in time back then.
I have been trying to locate Jimmy for many years, but have not been successful.
If you are part of the family and may know of a way that I can make contact with Jimmy or if any other others might be interested, please email me at
Hoping and praying that I hear from you! I live in Macomb County, MI.
Thank you,
Sharon (Gates) Flora

RE: West Hanson Cemetery
Thanks for asking your cousin about the Brown County SD cemeteries. I am still not certain that St. Paul is West Hanson.

See this website:

It indicates a St. John's is in West Hanson township. Is this cemetery even documented on Find a Grave?

I see you have submitted the photograph of St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Would you photograph & post the tombstone pictures of Unknown Mielke's listed on this cemetery, to help identify them? --when the snow is gone !!!

I am seeking West Hanson Cemetery, a country cemetery in Brown County SD. Wondering if this St. Paul Cemetery is also known as West Hanson? I am seeking the grave of Frank (1848-1923) and Agnes Dobberphuhl (1855-1897) at West Hanson Cemetery, Brown County, SD. They would be the parents of
John W. Dobberpfuhl
Minnie Dobberpfuhl Mielke
Laura Dobberpfuhl Lorenz
Lena Dobberpfuhl Meister
Sara Dobberpfuhl Mielke

I am wondering if the unknown Mielke graves are the Dobberpfuhl daughters.

RE: Frederick Davis
Dear Cristy: (Latter-Day Saints site) should have a record for Frederick A. Davis's birth/death, which may also list his mother's maiden surname and his father's surname. Someone has linked Mary Ann as his mother, my assumption was that since she was married to Davis that he might have been Frederick's father. But I have not confirmed any of that by searching at familysearch. ~ BL

Lucy Pauli (nee DeLasaux) Cooper
Dear Christy: Thank you for your offer to transfer her to me, but I am not related. May I continue to send you edits as I discover more information? Hope so, because I have an edit already!
To answer your question on the Edits tab -- This is a relatively new item within FindAGrave. To place an edit: 1) Go to the memorial you have an edit for;
2) Click on the Edit tab (upper right corner) on that memorial's page;
3) You will then see the revised list of items you can select to edit from there;
4) Once you have typed the edit items into the screen, send it;
5) You will receive a gray, message bar at the top of the memorial you were working on -- it is a brief message -- telling you your edit is being reviewed and you will receive an email message once it has been accepted.
I recommend going to one of the memorial pages you have created and testing this process, so you can see what goes where and how it all functions. Ten minutes spent and a ton learned! Kind regards, Bridey Light
