Dear Carolyn,
I'm looking for information about my great-grandfather, he was a patient at Dayton soldiers home in Dayton,OH...I know that he was there during the 1890 census...the only records I have been able to find are the Civil war records...do you have any idea where the records for patients around 1890 would be...maybe I can get some additional information...he's listed on Find-A-Grave..my e-mail is faithpayton@gmail.com...thank you
Faith

Katherine Valentine Hazel
Thank you, Carolyn, for taking the picture of Katherine Valentine Hazel's stone. I see that the Dayton National Cemetery still uses the upstanding stones, or whatever they are called. Where my husband is, the "newer" sections have the flat markers, which make it very hard to find when the weather gets bad. At least at Dayton, you can find them, even if there is snow on the ground. At Fort Custer National Cemetery, there is no way I can find him in the winter, so I don't get to go visit him as often as I'd like to. Thank you again. Pat
