RE: Wheeler
I looked for Andrew Wheeler today, all of December 1936 thru January 1937. I didn't find anything on him in the Democrat Argus. He may be in another newspaper but I didn't get a chance to look. I'll try again tomorrow.

RE: Wheeler
I'll look for Andrew Wheeler tomorrow if I go to the Library and get back to you, one way or the other.

No I haven't. If I had I would have recorded it if no one else had. If you give me the month and year of their death's I will be glad to see if I can find anything.

I don't have Silas Wheeler. I have 4 Wheelers in Maple and 2 in Little Prairie, but none of them have Obits yet. There are more Wheelers listed in Find A Grave that are not mine. Go to Search for a Cemetery and check them out. The others may have Obits with them.

Are you the lady that called the Library today, asking for me? If so, what can I do for you?

Access to Old Newspapers
Hey Mary,
My main goal (which still is) is to find Obits for the headstones I recorded in Maple and Little Prairie Cemeteries, Caruthersville, Mo. First I went to the local Library, Genology Room and found a few books created by the Historical Society with old Obits in them looking just for Maple and Little Prairie. Now I am just going page by page, year by year, in the Society's old newspapers and recording all Obits of ALL people that "verifies" place of interments and recording them on Find A Grave. This is very time consuming, but very rewarding and enjoyable(to me). I love to find Obits that helps me link family members together. I have gone thru the newspapers for 1930, 1940, 1950 thru 1954 and 1960. I am now working on 1955. I try not to duplicate other people's entries, but sometimes I do unknowingly because of the difference in names. Sometimes these old Obits have the people's names recorded as they were known in their community and not their full names causing the duplications. Most of the time I delete mine, but sometimes there is just too much information about that person, that it is too irresistable not to delete. If it was my loved one, I would much more like to read their Obits rather than just see date and death dates and nothing else. But, that's just me.
This is probably more than you wanted to know, it is just that simple.
