|Q M||Ooops! I think I've got it.|
Ooops! I think I've got it. Is the Mary Ann Nichols Short married to Uriah, and is the aunt of Mary Ann Nichols, daughter of Simeon Nichols and Easter Fairbanks? If so, who was the wife of Simeon, the son of Caleb? Do you know?

|Q M||Confused About Simeon and Mary Ann Nichols|
Hello, I'm confused about which Mary Ann belonged to which Simeon Nichols. Your generous photo shows a Mary Ann Nichols who died at 21 and was the daughter of Simeon Nichols (son of Caleb Nichols) and Easter Fairbanks. But Uriah Short's info on findagrave says Mary Ann, his wife, was daughter of Simeon Nichols who arrived in the area with his father Simeon, and later lists Mary Ann as a SISTER of Simeon who married Easter Fairbanks. The 1855 NY census shows Simeon with his second wife, Mercy, living with his FATHER Simeon - not Caleb. The history of Owego book says Simeon who married Easter was the son of Caleb, not Simeon. Could you please clear this up for me? I'm so confused! :-)

|Debi & Scott Morris||Picture useage|
Thank you for sharing pictures on Find A Grave. May I use the picture you have posted for the Palm Cemetery, in Orange County, Florida in my personal family tree file? I have started using grave marker & cemetery pictures to note the final resting place of members of my family tree. Cemetery pictures help in finding the correct cemetery. I will so note that the picture is from: Find A Grave Contributor: Catnip82 #46771427
Thank you again for your time & effort, I do appreciate it very much.

I have to assume you wrote the article I found on the history of Ethel Cemetery. Please!!!! I would like for everyone to stop refering to the ghost town of Ethel as being formerly ( Glen Ethel.)I'm the historian for Rock Springs Run State Reserve and the town of Ethel and it's Cemetery. I started as a volunteer there in April of 2008 and still at it. I startde my research because of the possibility of being an ancestor of William and Charlotte Moore, but it was not to be, but very interesting research. I currently have a total of 29 people buried at ETHEL CEMETERY and working with Archaeologists to get Ground Penetrating Radar done to get a grave count.The site is 1 acre which I surveyed in late 2008 and built an entrance and sign. I plan on eventually releasing my list of names, but not until I write my book on the true history of Ethel and it's people.
By the way, there was a Glen Ethel established about the late 1800's, but it was on Markham Woods Rd. about 2 miles N. of SR 434 and the railway there ran N-S whereas Ethel's rails ran E-W. If you would like more info on the town and Cemetery contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Tony H. Moore

|Renee Arnold||Shorts of Apalachins.|
Recently started working on the Apalachin Shorts. Believe I have a minor connection to them through my Van Riper line--have some info. that says Ella Van Riper (b. abt. 1852),daughter of Morris Van Riper and Mary Ann Holmes Van Riper, married Fred Short, son of Uriah Short. Fred Short memorial number 18780859, Uriah 9727157. Just stumbled across an old article from the 1880s where Fred Short was arrested for possibly being involved in a murder (yikes!) but couldn't find whether or not he was convicted. Wondering if you have this info?

My name is Kristen & I'm a descendent of Marica Dings Palmatier. I discovered that you have a photo of her grave. I'm a member of the DAR here in NYC, but I'm filing a supplemental application & they need proof that Marica is the daughter of John A. Dings & his wife Caterena Couse. THey won't accept the Dings Family History book, which is frustrating, but said if her grave was located next to theirs, they would accept it. Do you happen to have a photo of her grave next to theirs or know if it is indeed next to them? Thank-you so much! Also, what does the bottom inscription of her grave say?

|Ginny DeLong Parker||Meacham, Lemuel D|
I uploaded a photo of Lemuel Meacham's headstone (which is now laying on the ground) at Holcombville Cemetery. I recognized many of the surnames you had listed on your "bio". I knew a few Burlingame's, and Short's. I also live close to Slaterville Springs NY (named after a Slater). I live on the line between Tioga and Tompkins County so if I can help you find any ancestors in this area, please let me know.
Best Regards, Ginny DeLong
