|Thomas W Johnson||Joseph Markel|
I saw that you left flowers for Joseph Markel and
wonder if you are related to him. I am a great-great grandson of his. My great grandfather was George (Markel) Laning. Maybe we are distant cousins?

|James Lair||Elizabeth A Boon Robbin|
The photo that you submitted is not the original headstone. I am the third great-grandson of Elizabeth A Robbin an I am trying to get this removed as untrue information. Legal action is pending against the trustee of the south Henderson cemetery to have this stone removed. Please remove your picture. The orginial stone read loving wife and mother no reference to Daniel or Nathan Boone this information from a book at the Burlington library . According to the Boone Historical Society this is not a relative of his. Because No Riens will not listen to me please help put a stop to this hoax!!!

|Peggy Taylor Carey||HENDERSON/ESSEX/CONNECTIONS|
My ancestor research in Henderson Co, IL re: a marriage of Neville/Narvilla Henderson to Frances Essex. Neville was found in 1870 w/mother Jane Henderson in Town of Biggsville. I haven't been able to find him since. In 1880 Jane is living alone.
1900 I find Frances HENDERSON living w/her father, Soloman B ESSEX, Divorced w/two children!
Can you tell me anything about this brother to Margaret & Nancy A Henderson???
I have much to share for Essex & interested to find the two children of Neville's! Are the given names I have spelled correctly?
Would appreciate hearing from you one way or the other!

|Tom Best||RE: John Mitchell|
I don't know of a connection yet. I am still in the process of researching this historical development. It may be that he is not the "John Mitchell" of Monmouth who was involved in the anti-slavery movement. There were about three other "John Mitchell's" from Warren and Knox County in the 1840s to 1860s. Since he was a young man in this era, it is more likely that he was not the one. However, you never close any door on historical research until you are proved wrong. Thanks. Tom Best

|Tom Best||John Mitchell|
Are you aware of any activities of John Mitchell or his father, Dr. William, in the anti-slavery movement or underground railroad. I have found a reference to a "John Mitchell" involved in such activities in Galesburg, IL (near Monmouth)prior to the Civil War. I am trying to find out if this is the "John Mitchell." Did you know that this John Mitchell was a student at Monmouth College?

|amy12g||Wilson Ulysses Godwin|
Wilson Ulysses Godwin is also my 3xg grandfather (I think). I had a lady send me a message on ancestry telling me the relationship between Ulysses S. Godwin and Wilson Ulysses Godwin had not been proved and asked me to remove it from ancestry. Do you have any info that ties the two together? Were you the original source of the pics for Wilson and Artimisa?
Thanks for any info you have!
