Hi, I've been doing some research on my Fluitt relatives and saw that we have some in common. I just thought I would say hello.

Thanks so much for the follow up. I appreciate it.

You had asked me in a previous message if I'm related to any Fluitts and I'm not. I just take lots of pictures for Find A Grave and also create memorials from the death certificates on that haven't already been created.

Take care,

Ida Bean, 30979732

Sorry to bother you but on Ida's memorial it shows her first husband as Luther Lawrence Fluitt but he's actually her son. Are you able to correct it and show Luther Alfred, #9682606 as her first husband? I originally sent the correction to Sharon who maintains Ida's memorial but she said she couldn't do it. I thought whoever maintained the memorial could make corrections.

RE: Dr. Sam
I put in for the linking of Dr. Sam and his father. It may take a while as I am not the contributor for both.

Thanks for the suggestion that I link these two.

RE: Martin Banis Banks
According to Blanco County History Book, our Martin is the son of Fred Albert and Lottie Sophy Banks. His father was a Methodist minister in Blanco.

RE: Elizabeth Cross Powell history
Hello Clyde
Not much information on Elizabeth's South Carolina dependents But Elizabeth's father John Presberry Cross third child of Samuel Cross and Elizabeth Scott Cross, was born in Fairfield County near a settlement called Winnsboroon 10/18/1812 Elizabeth;s mother Phobee DeBella Steele Cross was born in Winnsboro, SC 5/29/1815.
One of Phobee DeBella Steele's sisters married William Burley in South Carolina.
I read that Elizabeth Cross Powell was also born in Winnsboro,SC. I hope that helps.
Elizabeth;s Husband John William Powell was born in Atlanta, Ga on 12/18/1842 died Gatesville Tx 12/30/1909. His Father was James Douglas Powell his Mother was Elizabeth Rice.
I am not sure why Elizabeth Cross Powell is buried in Concordia Parish instead of Texas as is her husband and rest of her family

Haynes in Pecan Creek
I deleted my duplicate of Penelope Duncan Haynes and transferred G. Haynes to you. Your information for George Almond Haynes has him 25 years old, but the marker has inscription "Haynes Infant", so, this may be someone else.

it is Macomb
I just looked it up and it is the Macomb...guess I now know why I have had such a hard time finding information on it, I have been spelling it McComb.

RE: McComb Cem
Could the Meadors Funeral Home not provide you with that information? I am not for sure if the cemetery is Macomb or McComb, will find out the spelling for sure and let you know, I will also check with Elaine Bain she is like the Grayson County Historian and she will maybe know who to contact for the needed information.

RE: McComb Cem
I would contact Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas...that would be the closest place to the cemetery...If this does not work out to your satisfaction check back with me....I do know that they have markers setting beside the funeral home.

RE: Blackwell/Fluitt
I've got them in Harrison and Jasper Co but I'd have to look it up by name. This is the Blackwell Island part of the family.

RE: Fluitt Duke family
I'm still working on trying to find the connection of the Blackwell's to the Long Island Blackwell's before I print the book. I have found one section of the family that was in Williamsburg Co, SC but then they went to MS because they had moved here with the intention of being granted land and it was already taken. I'd have more on the Fluitt or Duke family if I could get someone to go to the cemetery and take pictures of the tombstones. With dates it's so much easier to find people. I also love bible copies for my book and pictures and no one has supplied any on your side of the family. Keep in touch as it's the only way to get everything done right. Let me know if you have anything else to add.
