Martins buried in the Milano Cemetery
Hello... I see that you are the person who manages the memorials of
Jane Martin Find A Grave Memorial# 10643079
Judy Martin Find A Grave Memorial# 10643075
Billy Joe Martin
Find A Grave Memorial# 9675079
Fannie Mae Steele Martin
Find A Grave Memorial# 9675130

I sent a request to a Findagrave volunteer photographer... for photos of the headstones of the above mentioned names...

The response I received was as follows:
"I searched the stated plot or section and could not find the grave"
"I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave"
They also reported, specifically:
Since the husband and father, E. Martin is buried in Winston, could the rest of the family be buried there as well? I have not found any of his family in Milano Cemetery. A copy of the death certificate would help.
Could you share with me the information that you may have for their burial in this cemetery?
I have been unable to locate the death certificates at this time... but will be on that quest. Thank You for any assistance you might provide... Susan Boyett

George W Martin and descendents
Hello my name is Susan Newton Boyett... I believe that we may have corresponded earlier.
George W Martin and wife (Hester) Hettie are my great grandparents. I never met them and am very curious in learning as much about them as possible.
I am looking for photos of the gravesites of their children whom I believe may be buried in the Winston Cemetery. Possible children;
George Martin 1905-
August Martin 1913-
Also believed to be buried here are Hester Martin's mother:
Mary B Terry Winston 1849-1926
Her father: William Overton Winston 1849-1890

If possible I would like to request a photo of their headstones...
I am aware that the cemetery is on private property. I have been given the contact name and number for entrance to this land. It is as follows;
From Cameron take Hiway 77 south for 3 1/10 miles to the "Y" then continue on Hwy 77 S abt
3 7/10 miles. Pass the veterinarian sign on the right side of the road at CR 230, and drive abt a half mile further. The double gate is locked so permission and a key must be obtained from Mr Moody to enter the private property. The cemetery is on a hill about a half mile down a gravel road. This information came from my, inquiry at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce...(James Walker, 512-636-9520)
It was taken from a book "170 Years Of Cemetery Records" compiled by Norrine Holder Holman which is located at the Cameron Library.
Contact person for cemetery admittance:
Carl Moody 254-697-3727 or
Jason Moody 254-605-0933
I live in the Dallas area and hope to visit Cameron someday soon. However until that time if you are willing to try and locate these gravesites it would be truly appreciated.

Mary Walker Winston Whitsitt
Found a newspaper article telling how she died. THE MARLIN DEMOCRAT
Thirteenth Year - Number 40
Marlin, Texas, Thursday, December 4, 1902

Mrs. Whitsitt, aged 80 years and very feeble, was fatally burned at Lorena. She was sitting by the fire when her clothing caught and before assistance arrived she was burned so badly that her life is despaired of. She was alone at the time, the family having gone across the street to a neighbor's a few moments.

William Duvall Gaines
I am a desendent of William Duvall Gaines. I noticed that you have a photo of his grave. Where in Calvary cemetary is it located? My son and I searched that cemetery a couple of years ago and could not find it. I am sure we just missed it. Any way I have other info on William Duvall and his desendents that I am willing to share. What other info on him do you have.

Oscar Bresee
I had requested a picture of the tombstone for the record you entered for Oscar Bresee and the volunteer called the cemetery and was informed that they have no record of him being buried at Evergreen. I was hoping you would have additional information as to where you might have obtained his burial information or perhaps could shed some light on the discrepancy. Thank you so much
