Happy to be able to help :). I have 'adopted" Bucksville, it got hit in the storm of 2011. Have been trying to contact members of families whose stones got destroyed. I watch for the requests from there dilligently.

B. E. L. Miller @ Acker

I corrected the year of birth, but in looking at your headstone photo, it appears his middle initial should be "F", instead of "L", or do my old eyes deceive me... again?

Problems at Acker Cemetery
Thank you so much for attempting to photograph the graves of Phoeby Vining and David Kimbrel. It is disappointing to find stones that are un-readable or un-marked, it seems they are forever lost to us being able to identify them, but I greatly appreciate your looking for these graves.
.......Blessings, Lynda Davis Brown

Acker Cemetery

First, thanks for photographing the cemetery! I'm not totaly surprised to find a few differences from the typescript, to the actual stones. Hope you want mind me covering three in this message.

Re: Infant Daughter Bunn
I changed Jane, to JULIA.

Re: A. Acker
I copied your photo and enlarged it in one of my photo editing programs. I agree, the YOB is 1838. Interestingly, I was able to see (by turning my head sideways!) there was a "J" in front of the "A", so I'm more convinced than ever this is the grave of Joseph A. Acker. I've never seen a stone on which the name is "wrapped around" the word BORN, instead of over it.

Re: Luvenie Edmonds Vining
I was very tempted to delete this one. I don't know if the transcriber blew this name, or there was actually a headstone there in the 1940's with this name. You'll note there are a number of Vinings in that cemetery, but apparently no other Edmonds. This leads me to believe she was an Edmonds, who married a Vining. However, I could not locate any Alabama census, or marriage records under either surname to support that theory. Since your photo shows no mention of the name VINING, and the stone appears to be more modern than what one would expect to find in the 1940's, I'm thinking this is someone different. How would you feel about adding a seperate memorial for "Louvena Edmonds", and I'll leave "Luvenie Vining", with an explanation?

Have you finished adding all your photo's for this cemetery?

Cathy Watts
Scottsville Cemetery
Do you know if there is actually a West Scottsville Cemetery? My info indicates my great-grandfather was buried in "West" Scottsville but I can't seem to find it on Find A Grave. Wasn't sure if they were one in the same. Thought you might know since you have photographed there. Thank you for any info!
