The name of the Newspaper is showing in the Caption area for the obituary photo as well as the date. It was the News & Courier of Charleston, not sure of the date, you might want to check that.

Thanks
Don

Katina Rouse Moultrie
GGrandfather resting place
We never knew exactly happen to him. All we know is that he left Ga and fled to Va...I found a WWII draft card and found an address he once lived. It also said his occupation was at a shipyard...but I was told it wasn't a shipyard back then in Richmond Va but I live here in Hampton Roads Va and their many shipyards. Just trying to find his resting place...

Great-Grandfather
Hello,
My name is Katina and I was told that my Great-grandfather died in Va, but in the Richmond area and worked in the shipyards. He was born in Ga, but fled to VA for personal reason. I was hoping this may be him in Norfolk? Thanks for your time and patience..Peace and Blessings...

RE: A C Smith
No, that's not all of it, I did cut it short. That part was good info I havent seen anywhere else; the rest was a long tedious detailing of which positions he held which year. There is a better article written by Wofford University that I need to either get permission to post or rewrite. On the whole, it's pretty dull stuff; he was a worthy, upright man with no drama in his life at all, that I can see.

I've looked without success for the names of his 8 children. Two are linked to him, I wish I knew the rest. Need to hit Ancestry, I guess.

It's a work in progress. Sometimes it takes me a while to process everything I've read, and I tend to look at a person as part of a family and go off on tangents looking for siblings. Which is what has happened here. One of his siblings was "Cotton Ed" Smith, a state senator and a well? known name in SC if you're of a certain age.
