Joanna Skaggs Tinnin
I just added two sons of Antoine and Joanna to their Memorials. This information according to family records and their death certificates.

Not a problem, apology accepted and I also did not mean to brush you off or imply that I did not believe you. When a death certificate is found and posted, word of mouth is sometimes the only way to find out it is incorrect and research needs to be done. I guess when you said you would have John's memorial removed if I did not take it off without further research, that bothered me more than anything. Hopefully I will be able to locate additional records to prove who this person was. Thanks.

I removed the parents from John Tinnin's memorial but left the memorial until I do my own research to find out to what family he belongs.

Yes, there are mistakes on death certificates just as there are on census'. The doctor and/or registrar who filled in the blanks had to have gotten the information from the nephew,

I have been researching many years and I do not put information out without good reason.

Antoine and Joanna are my 3rd great grand uncle and aunt also, although I did not know the family well. I hesitate to remove the memorial for John Tinnin until I do some further investigating. I will have to get into my old files to see who first told me about him. I do know that his death certificate definitely list his parents as Antoine Tinnin and Joanna Skaggs. The information as I said was given by his uncle, Ervin Eden, whose mother would have been a sister to John so it seems very clear to me that he would have known that fact. When I get into my old records, I will let you know what I find. I also have an Eden connection I can talk with about past history.

Hi Mike, I posted the son, John Tinnin from information gleaned from his Missouri death certificate no. 1740. It lists his parents as Antoine Tinnin and Joanna Skaggs. The information was given by his nephew, Ervin Eden. He was married to a lady with the last name Umfleet which I knew but could not read her first name.. Let me know if you find anything different. Also, would you please post Antoine's middle name, Andrew? Thank you

RE: Mary Hovis

No problem! There are more graves without markers in my family back there than there are with markers, so I really didn't think much of it. I appreciate your help and look forward to seeing it. And, again, thanks for all your hard work - it is a huge help in my genealogical efforts!!!

RE: Mary Anna Lunsford Watts
Very interesting. You may have to set me straight because I had put Issac Newton as the son of Frederick Watts and Isabella Kelso(e).

They were married in Adair County, KY in 1820 and moved to St. Louis. The 1850 census of St. Louis lists a Newton and I am now thinking that was Thomas Newton and not Issac Newton. Always wondered why they had one child born in TN when all the rest were born in KY and MO.

I have quite a bit on Isaac (since I thought he was in my line). Perhaps you could send me you e-mail address and I'll send directly to you. Else I can post what I have here.

Thank you for taking the time to try to locate her grave and for the additional information you provided. I am really trying to find where her father-in-law, Frederick Watts, is buried and was hoping this might be a lead.
