|J Allen||Peter Hoppaugh - d. 1880 or 1890|
Hi Karen -
The Peter Hoppaugh/Hoppough you found in the Newton Cem., Sussex Co., NJ may be one of my relatives. Were there any other Hoppaughs or Hoppoughs in that cemetery?

|Edward Cosgrove||Harry Vail, Newton|
Thank you for your work. I have a correction on Harry vail's record. I am his grandson and after many years I have pieced together his history. You are correct that there is a link between Harry vail in Newton and Daniel harris Vail and james H. vail in yellow Frame. However, Daniel Harris Vail is Harry's father ( Harris is Harry's real first name) and James H. Vail is Harry's grandfather. James comes from Philadelphia and his father was Daniel Vail who was born in New Jersey.

I understand that those who are 100 years old may be related to many people but thought I would ask since I'm my family's genealogist (it's truly my passion). If you are not related to the following (and thereby to me) would you be willing to transfer the following memorials to me? I've listed the names, memorial numbers and my relationship to them.
My Find A Grave ID is #48676067
Harvey E Green - Memorial# 17103390 - Paternal GG Grandfather
Emma Jane Babcock Green - Memorial# 17103388 - Paternal GG Grandmother
Lela May Green Roloson - Memorial# 74002456 -- Paternal Grand Aunt

|Pam P.||Abraham Rutan 1789-1864|
Hi - thank you for the wonderful service that you proved for those of us who can't make it to the cemetery. I have a question, I am trying to link Abraham Rutan 1789-1864 to Abram D. Rutan 1763-1848(his father) and his mother's last name was Kasine first name could be Anna, Rebecca, or rachel or maybe all three. I am trying to establish Abram D. Rutan lineage as a Patriot - I need a source/proof of their lineage, Inoticed that you have written Anna____ but if I knew the source perhaps I can prove this lineage. Thank you again!!! Pam

I have been searching for my father's grave for many years. His name was Robert Jay Armbrister, born 11/22/18 and died 1/2/67. I remember he was buried in Milton Cemetery by local American Legion post.
I have come across Sgt Alfred Armbrister buried in Milton Cemetery in Milton NJ with same DOB and DOD, Army veteran from WWII. You had entered this info in 2006. This is really too much of coincident to be a different person. is there anyway you can verify the information you entered? I have not been to NJ in over 40 years and all those knowledgeable of his burial have passed. If there is any info you could supply, it would be greatly appreciated.

The pictures for Elizabeth, Floyd E., Hiram and Willis, are under the last name spelled Burrows, not Burroughs. Burrows is on the headstone. Joan S.

|MooreToots||Sarah SHURTZ - Shaw @ 16461696|
Everything is correct, of what you put in Sarah's memorial, but her age of death is 65-11-9 days, not '0'. Sarah's Maiden name is SHURTZ, and born on 24 April 1746.
I can send more info. if you wish, to help you build this memorial up, adding family and etc.
Just so you know, I'm not looking for a transfer of this memorial, your doing great!

|Melvin Graham||David Giveans (1934-1992)|
Hi Karen, my name is Melvin Graham and I live in East Providence, R.I. In 1966, I graduated from the 6th grade at P.S. 163 in Manhattan, N.Y. Mr. David Giveans was my school teacher. On June 5, 2016, I and other students of Mr. Giveans had a reunion in New York City (we all are in our early 60s).
We all expressed a desire to see Mr. Giveans again because he had such a profound impact in our lives. "Our" Mr. Giveans may have been the son of Isador Giveans (1902-1982) and Charlotte (Garrabrant) Giveans (1905-1944). Their son David was born 23 February 1934 in New Jersey, and died 25 March 1992 in San Francisco, CA.
Could you please share with me any information you may have on this David Giveans: was he an elementary school teacher at P.S. 163 in Manhattan, N.Y.?; and what was the scope of his teaching career?; and when did he leave New York/New Jersey for California?
Anything you can share with us will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

I'm interested in the info contained in the bio.
"Husband of Lena Blumel, married January 18, 1916 at Middletown, NY. Son of Ellis C. Gould and Annie Cherry." Just wondering where the marriage date comes from, as they're listed as husband and wife in the 1910 census, with one son.

Karen, I wonder if you would be willing to delete your site for Peter in Newton as he is related to me, I realize you had your site on a couple years before mine. I hadn't looked at it in awhile so was so surprised someone finally found his tombstone and put it on Find A Grave. It appears like they have cleaned up the old cemetery....how wonderful. If it's a problem for you to remove then I will send the info I have to you to put on your site.
Thanks, Shirley from Alabama

This is a relatively startling posting for me to read. Michael is my great grandfather and I was unaware that an obituary existed for him. This posting lists my grandfather John and a grand daughter Gertrude. John is my mother's father and I have traced that family for thirty years. It now appears that he may have been married before and my Mom had a half sister. She is new to me and I am wondering if you can tell me where the obituary came from or if you could send me a copy of it?

Re: "Pvt Daniel Rutan" listing
The stone says only "DR" and date
No inscription "Revolutionary War"
It is unknown who this "DR" is.
There has been confusion about this headstone for many years.
The only Pvt. Daniel Rutan found in the Rev. War records was (b. abt April 1756 d. in 1820 0r 1826 (marker unclear) and is buried in Belleville reformed Church Cem. Belleville, NJ.

Hiram Hankins (1857-1898) #110346622 and
Florence Transue Hankins (1861-1924) #110346735
are NOT the parents of
Hiram Hankins (1812-1896) #1308429
Hiram Hankins #1308429 is the parent of
Hiram Hankins (1857-1898) #110346622
I hope that you can understand that. I am assuming when the parents are fixed that then the siblings attached to Hiram Hankins #1308429 will be corrected. I do not know who the parents of Hiram Hankins #1308429 or any of his siblings. He is my great grandfather.
Thank you for all the wonderful work you do for Find A Grave.
