Harold & Wanda Blackwell
B. BATSON, Garoutte Cemetery
Johnna, I came across a memorial I made for Corah Belle Batson, #17162109 which is a duplicate of one you made for B. Batson, #8936896 two years earlier. I did not realize at the time it was a duplicate.
Since then the one I made has a lot of additional information and links. The easiest solution I assume would be for me to switch my memorial to you and then you delete the one you made.
I will not wait for your response because of course you can do what you think best.
Thanks,
Harold & Wanda

RE: Eliza (Butler) Israel
Johnna,

Yes, I believe Ron Scott, the creator of the earlier memorial is a relative.

You gave me a bit of information that I didn't realize before. I already have a picture of John's side of the stone, but didn't realize it was the same stone for Eliza and Sarah Jane until you told me and I compared the two pictures. According to my records Sarah died when she was a teenager. I guess that's why she is buried with Mom and Dad. They lost several members of their family during a TB epidemic, maybe she was one of them.

If you get a chance, would you mind taking a picture of Sarah's side of the stone?

Thank you so much,
Connie Israel

Johnna,

Thank you for the photo of Eliza's grave marker. I see you placed it on both memorials. I've let Lyle and Marsha know that theirs is a duplicate and hopefully they will remove it.

Thanks for all the great work you do!

Are you sure that the birth year is 1817. Could it be 1847?

Do you recall what your information is based on? A photograph? Cemetery records? Someone's transcription?

Peggy Sullivan
#8698398 James Smith Garoutte
Noticed James Smith Garoutte memorial gives his date of death as March 20, 1835. Found a family listing which gave November 30, 1876 as date of death. Then to muddy the waters further, the headstone with his memorial appears to read May 31, 1875. I did find him on the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census so the 1835 death date must be wrong. Thanks for checking.

Rebecca Childers
Robert B. McCracken
From everything I have found I believe this person to be Robert Holmes McCracken, and it actually looks like the initial on the tombstone is an H. rather than a B.

Also, if Tillery Cemetery is in Flemington, MO, I believe that is Polk County, not Hickory County.

Just something for you to check up on and possibly correct.

Thank you very much for the grave marker photo for Ida Pauline Kelly. Do you know anything about the curious note on the find a grave entry: "She was murdered by her neighbor, but they never pursued the case."? Were there other family members buried nearby?
