RE: Wywias
My grandfather (Dennis Earl) would've been maybe a great-nephew?? to Pop. He was the son of Ernest Carl (Jr.), and grandson of Ernest Carl (Sr.).

I noticed that in some of my ancestors pages, you had left a photo. Do you happen to be a part of the Wywias genealogy and/or have any more photos? My granddad/dad/I are Wywias, however I don't have any photos from that side of the family. Thank you!

RE: Martha Whitfield Morris
I went to the Old Tate Cemetery and found the graves of Joseph B. Morris and Mahala Morris; there is indeed a third grave next to them... it is marked by stones but none are legible (I suspect the actual headstone is long gone). I've added a photo to Martha's memorial page that shows all three graves (see caption underneath the photo). If you don't want this photo on her page, just let me know and I'll be glad to delete it. I just thought it might help you see all three graves at once.
Best Regards,

RE: Pvt Samuel Cox
It was no trouble. It was my first time visiting Oakland and I had been wanting to go for a long time. I took a list of photo requests with me and he was one of the few that I was able to locate. It was right where it was supposed to be. If you have any future requests for Oakland, just let me know.

RE: Martha Whitfield Morris
I'm glad to help in any way I can! Sorry I could not find a grave for Martha Whitfield Morris at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery, however, I did note that among the "Morris" headstones, there are several that are badly weathered and are no longer legible (just the stone remains). You may be correct that Martha is buried there; her grave may be one of the ones that is no longer legible?
I will keep her name in mind as I visit local cemeteries and let you know should I find anthing! Best Regards, Roger.

Your Grandmother Nora
I'm so glad I found you. I work for a historic digitization grant project at Weatherford Public library, Parker County, Texas. We take old documents, photos, and recordings and publish them online in the library catalog.

Yesterday, my coworker and I were tasked to go through boxes containing things from old safety deposit box items from a local bank.

We came across a tiny notepad with the name "Henry Wywias" written on the front.

Inside was a newspaper clipping of an obituary.

Written in the notebook, under the obituary was a note... addressed to God, dated August 1964. The jagged, frail handwriting is a plea to God to not take "pop" until he has prepared a place for "the two of us, pop and me." I don't have the note on me, but I'll be back in the office to scan it within a week or two. Once I scan it, I'll send it to you; because I'm certain the note was written by your grandmother Nora about her second husband Henry Wywias.

When my co-worker and I looked up the names on findagrave, we were amazed to see that this couple, buried together, died a mere 3 months apart.

We both cried.

I cried because my young husband has been battling a serious illness, and that note your grandmother wrote really hit me where it counts.

I'd love for you to have the original, and we'd love to have your permission to publish it online through the library catalog. We also record oral histories as part of our grant, and I would like to ask for an interview from you to tell what you know about your grandmother's story.

I hope you are as pleased about the discovery of this note, written to God on behalf of true love as we are at the Weatherford Public Library, Parker County Texas.

your kind words of appreciation make me want to continue doing acts of kindness. I am currently working on getting every stone in another cemetery in Jacksboro read and put on findagrave. It is hard work, but if I can help one person, the pain I get doing this kindness is worth it.

The Atha Family
Dot and Doran, I have just transferred all the Atha memorials to you. Although I grew up in Missouri, I live far away now. You might hit the "request photo" for each memorial. There are volunteers in Rogers Mill who will take the photos for you.
